Default Going Away Basket

I have a friend that is moving away and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for what to put in the basket. I was thinking an address book, some stamped candles to match but was not sure what else to put in there. Any help would be great!! Thank you!!

Since she's moving, I'm sure you want to keep in touch. How about making her one of those stationery boxes (not sure if that's what they're called... the ones that have the pockets to hold postage stamps, cards, notepad, etc.). Maybe fill your basket with co-ordinating handmade items like cards, stationery, postage stamps, post-it note holder, a journal or notebook, RSVP pen, datebook and a phone card. Or, you can go another route and make it personal... candles, soaps, body spray, etc and a good book & bookmark. Or, maybe jams & jellies, teas, crackers and edibles. I love making gift baskets and I think it all depends on the person your making it for... their likes/hobbies, etc. If she has a hobby (such as stamping), a basket with supplies would be great! There are so many gift ideas on here that I'm sure you can find things to make her to make it a very personal gift! Browse the gift gallery and get some ideas there! Good luck! I'm sure she'll love whatever you come up with!

You could stamp either some "We've Moved" cards for her to send out to friends or relatives with the new address or "Thank You" cards for any gifts or help they might receive during moving. I don't know how much time you have, but you could do a mini album to document their move from one house/town to the next. And don't forget the chocolate! Everyone needs chocolate!

I've bought the post cards from the post office (already has the stamp on it) and stamped "we've moved" cards for friends. You can even fill out the mailing address for folks you know that your friend will want to send the cards to. Just whatever you give her, give it early enough so that she can pack it. I can't tell you how many times well-meaning friends have given me gifts on the day we're driving or flying out so that I'm trying to figure out how to take the gift with me after I'm all packed. That only adds stress rather than the intended thoughtfulness.

Do you know her new address? You can make her some address labels.

On that thought to send the gift to meet them at the other end would be nice too.
