Glossy paper help

I'm trying to make some cards using glossy paper for the first time. What is the trick to getting the ink to dry? I am using classic ink in brilliant blue. I tried heat setting with my heat gun, but it's still not dry all the way through. Does it just take time? If yes, how long??

I usually don't have a problem getting classic ink to dry on Glossy CS. You could always take a paper towel an wipe off excess.

Hmm, that is very odd, as classic ink usually dries instantly on glossy paper. Where did you get your glossy paper?

instead of wiping after stamping, which can lead to smearing (already a problem when stamping on glossy), try stamping off on another sheet of paper elsewhere once before stamping on the glossy. that should remove some "extra" ink from the stamp so your image will dry more quickly. I like to emboss when stamping on glossy or vellum to avoid the ink not drying problem altogether.

Are you using photo paper or SU glossy?
It should take more than a minute or so to dry on SU glossy....I have NEVER had to heat set it.

for my glossy i buy photo paper from the dollar store... so much cheaper... i got 20 sheets for $1!!! and the ink dries pretty quick on that too...

Thanks everyone. It is SU paper. The only color that took a long time to try was the brilliant blue. I also used Bashful Blue and Brocade blue, and did not have that same problem.
I like the suggestion of stamping off first. Guess I will try that the next time.
