Stampin up no longer sells glitter in various colors and I am finding glitter difficult to find - at least not in the stamping aisles. Can Pearl Ex be used in place of glitter? Or does anyone have some suggestions on where to find glitter in various colors?
Art Institute Glitter has many colors in transparent, opaque and fine glass. Its not terribly expensive but good quality, fine glitter. I love it and have maaannny colors. Check them out- www.artinstituteglitter.com (I think thats the web addy. HTH
Art institute glitter is awesome it's so fine and pretty. Another thought is that perhaps the glitter really isn't on the stampin isle. I've found that sometimes products are placed in craft stores in the oddest places sometimes. Just be careful or it will be more than glitter that you will find. ;)
At my local JoAnns, the colored glitter is in the same aisle as pompoms, chenille stems and that sort of thing. Come to think of it, I think that's where our Michael's has a lot of theirs, as well.
If I'm not mistaken, TAC has quite a wide selection as well.
Pearl Ex is not a substitute for glitter -- it really is an additive for paints or other liquids, although it can be rubbed on and then sealed with a fixative. I like the ease of stickles -- glitter and glue in a little squeeze bottle for about $2.

I found many, many colors and types of glitter at the scrapbooking and stamping convention. Just be warned, if you go there are too many things you will NEED. Diane
