My son had quite the time opening several jars of glitter and dumping them into the drawer where I keep my stamp pads. Somehow the glitter managed to get onto the fabric part of the pad and I'm having a horrible time trying to get it off. Does anyone have any experience with this or any ideas? Thanks so much!
Oh my gosh! Why didn't I think of that? I've been trying to clean it off with various rags, paper towels, etc. but only wiping the ink away and not the glitter.
Ok, going to see if we have any packing tape around here.....
I use a piece of packing tape wrapped around my fingers sticky side out. Picks up the glitter just great!
JEM - wow - thank you - I don't know why this didn't cross my mind, but I'm not nearly as mad at the friends who spilled glitter on my favorite blue ink pad now!
Great discussion, everyone! I have a related question: how do I get glitter out of the recesses of my stamps? I've tried scrubbing with dishwashing detergent and a toothbrush, but there is still lots of residue. Any suggestions? thanks!

You can get a lot of it out with masking tape that is loosely wadded up (sticky side out) so you are able to push it into the recesses.

I spray my stampin mist on the stamp and let it sit for a few minutes and then rub it on my stampin scrub. This way I've not had any glitter stick to the stamp. I have had to do it a couple times on the real stuck ones but it really works good.

My cat likes to sit on my Stampin' Scrub. So after I get the glitter off, I have cat hair on them.

Fix THAT problem ladies!
now that is funny. {sorry}
most people post about cats stealing pretty ribbons..
I have two labs in my space so if i have to mail something that needs packing tape on it i just mention they will receive free Grace & Storm hair on the tape no charge... :mrgreen:

LOL that is too cute. I can think of only one way to fix that problem, get rid of the cats and that is just not a option in my opinion. I'd rather have cat and dog hair on everything.
I am rolling with laughter and especially for the kitty.............LOL but I gotta tell you that me and embossing powder..........You wouldnt believe the places it has been on me .............and I ain't tellin......

Excuse me, ahem...yes, I found the tape method by trial and error after my demo re-inked a pad for me and it came back covered in glitter. Just wish I could have saved the glitter for re-use. Hmmm, am I discovering a new technique here or what?
After you use the packing tape to remove the different glitters, then you can use the tape to make embellishments! Push the glitter into the tape so it sticks well and then punch out whatever shape you want...instant bling! Actually, I haven't tried this, but it sounds like a great idea at 11:00 at night!

I'll bet that green goopy stuff called Cyber clean would work well for this. My husband orded some and used it on the keyboard and cell phones. Worked well.
