Default Fun stampin activity with 5th Grade Girl Scouts

With all the crafty ladies looking at these items, I thought someone might have a good idea for something to do with my fifth grade girl scout troop. I'm going to try making tumbled marble tile coasters. Anyone else have a good suggestion? Let me know! Thanks Gina

I've done explosion books before and also a Stamp a Stack style card gift set.

I've also done wall clocks (got $2 clocks at IKEA) and altered corkboards.

We have done the fantasy box that is on www.stubbystampers.com under Projects. The girls loved it and now three years later, they did them again. Also JanTink has a wonderful purse album that she did with the carousel notes - Live Your Dream Carousel Notes Purse Album by JanTInk at Splitcoaststampers. I rewrote her instructions to include the dimensions, if you are interested let me know. We have also done two coaster photo frames. Let me know if you want any of the written instructions - I have a bunch on file.

Have the girls stamp a huge pile of cards and deliver them to your local nursing home.
OR- take your craft materials to the nursing home, and have each girl pair up with a resident for a craft project- something simple, like stamping on a picture frame or a decoration to hang on a door.

(Ok, confession: I'm biased, as I'm the Activity Director in a nursing home. But I can tell you that the residents LOVE it when the girl scouts come!)

You're right, Amy, they DO love it! Our Brownies went on Tuesday and each did a Thanksgiving craft with some residents and they're already asking when our girls are coming back!!

Sigh, why is my troop so not crafty? I've tried several craft projects over the years and they've all pretty much been disasters. Last time, I bought "The Knack" kits from Michaels. Three leather jewelry projects, and time suggestion on the package was 30 minutes. Two hours later, NONE of the girls had finished two projects let along three!

Sorry for the vent~ it's just hard to be a crafty leader with non-crafty girls.

{{HUG}} I totally understand that! My girls are SO slow and do not do those kinds of things well. We usually have to break tasks/projects into short little segments to get anything accomplished - they're more the chit-chatty type!
