Default Frustrating late night stamping

Okay, so it's 10 PM and I haven't touched my stamps all day yesterday. SO I head down the stairs...what should I do? I know, I have a whole OSW sheet stamped, I can take my template and make 10 cards out of it! Yay!

So first things first...where is the template? Where is it? Hmmm...not there! Not there! Finally, after 10 minutes of rifling through papers, I finally find the template. Now I have to find the sheet that is already stamped...that only took 2 minutes. Ready to go. Get the cardstock and cut it up. Okay. Time to have fun!

Now, I need to score all these cards. I put the first one in my paper cutter and push the scoring blade across the cardstock. Nothing happens! What? I look at the scoring blade and that little piece that holdes the blade part is gone! Arrghhh! Where is it? I think, oh yeah, I knocked this off the table the other night; it must be somewhere on the floor. I look and look....and look some more. Can't find it! Okay, maybe I can use one of my old paper cutters...except that the scoring blades for those are not in them and are no where to be found anyway! I look and look....and look some more! Can't FIND THEM!!!! Okay, bone folder...where is that? NO WHERE!!! Arrrgghhhh! Finally I grab this Cutterbee thingy that scores...it does not work as well, but at least it's something!

So I start stamping...finally. On the second card, I need my paper snips. Can't find 'em! I grabbed a pair of crummier scissors from the basket I keep them in for my students and keep going. Then I get to number 3. I had cut three squares of my OSW sheet to make this card and I can only find 2!!! So I start looking and looking. I look through the trash in case it fell in there. I look all over my stamping table. 10 minutes later, I finally found it under my Portaink! So I finished that card.

I finally did get about 8 cards made before I decided to cut my losses and go to bed!

Default bAD NIGHT STAMPING

I have had evenings like that. I just finished 40 baby shower invitations for a co-worker. Towards the end, I couldn't do anything right, i set a card on top of an open ink pad, left inky fingerprints on two of them, then I atamped several envies upside down. At that point I decided to clean up and went to bed. It seems that if I keep at it too long, I get too tired and become careless. So, I feel your pain.

I know, I know! Had to ask Jan yesterday! OSW is "One Sheet Wonder" Jan, post your OSW template thingie again. Another opportunity for me to gush over Jan. Incredible creative woman! Jan, your night just shows your genious! Losing the simple things! I have LOTS of days like that. I'm spending holiday down time organizing my stamp area, but I still lose stuff. Hate when those jobbies pop out. They should make some kind of tether cord or something for the paper cutters.

Hope today is a better day!

I so feel your pain! This generally happens when I am in dire need of spending 15 minutes to clean my area. Speaking of which...I need to clean my area! lol

Geribeari,
OSW is One Sheet Wonder - right, JanTink? It's a wonderful concept where you stamp an entire sheet of cardstock with a few different images and colors of ink, then use a template to cut it in pieces and make about 10 different cards. It was featured in a Stampin Success magazine - I think in October or November, 2003. Could probably find it in the archived Stampin Success magazines on the Stampin Up website.

I can relate, sometimes you want to do it and then you aren't satisfied with how the project came out. that gets me mad.

TC, LOL, I started singing the "On Top of Spaghetti" song reading your message! I'm always losing stuff on the table and then a DD will check something out and forget to return it to my desk! ARGH!

Drives me NUTS when I spend half my stamping time just looking for stuff that gets lost under my **stuff**. No matter how organize I try to stay, each time I start to stamp, things just pile up, & up, & up.

Please tell me everyone spends half their time doing this, so that I don't feel so 'cluttery'

That's usually when I just get on SCS and look at the great projects that have been posted that day!

Thanks for sharing!

Sounds like my night of stamping until I shut the door to keep the cats out of my work area. They like to either chew on my supplies or run off with them....makes it difficult to keep track of things when they keep disappearing!

sounds like me every day, or every time I want to stamp, I spend too much time looking here for ideas... and them waste more of the day looking for my stuff and never get anything done because by the time I find what I am looking for I am too tire to do it

Sorry for your frustration Jan.

On days like that I hear a little voice in the back of my head saying "STEP AWAY FROM THE TABLE!" I tend to screw up the project more if I keep going. When I come back to in the next day I'm more refreshed and move right along. Hope that happens for you too!

Happy weekend!

I ended up buying a new scoring blade...never did find the piece that came off!

I found my paper snips in the waste basket!!!

Luckily, I had a better day today. My downline and another demo friend came over and we cooked on Christmas cards! I had a bunch of retired cardfronts from last year that I wanted to sell, so I spent my time remounting them on full cards, stamping the insides, and packaging them up! Gives you a great feeling to get so much done after having such a lousy night before!
