So I've only recently started stamping but really enjoy it. I was wondering how do you find a good LOCAL SU (or CTMH, TAC) demo that does classes/workshops? I have a friend with whom I purchase SU stuff from but she's never announced classes or workshops. Just curious!
thanks!

use the demo locator on SU's website, or ask around here. I'm sure one of these ladies would love to have you as a customer! I guess it just depends on what you're looking for from your demo. (what kind of classes, workshops, etc). Everyone has their own style so when you find someone in your area check out their style. HTH!
First, there is the demonstrator locator on many compnay websites. Check there to find local demonstrators, giveone or two a call to talk to them and see who best can meet your needs/desires.
You might also want to indicate the area you currently live and see who on this board lives near you and you could arrange to meet them.
Oops! I guess I should do that! Thanks everyone. I live in Irving Tx (Valley Ranch Area). I can't really go far since my DD is still under treatment (and frankly I don't like to drive long distances - waste of time! LOL) so I really want to stay in my immediate area and/or Coppell. I want to learn more card making techniques and alterable stuff. I love casing things from here so I'm kind of challenged on coming up with my own unique ideas....
Put in your zipcode or State. Please keep in mind those of us that Pay for a TAC website are the only ones listed on the Demo locator, There might be someone closer to you. And you'll need to call the Home Office to see if there is: 785-820-9181
Close To My Heart has a locator too, go to: www.closetomyheart.com and click on the consultant locator and put in your zip code. You might want to look for one that had a website and you can check their calendar and artwork, etc. to see if they keep it current and seems to be an active consultant.
Check out the challenges on SCS also. There are a variety. While some just have a color combo or layout to try, there are some that showcase a different technique each week. Great way to learn new stuff. ANd also check out the weekly SCS newsletter.

Definitely try the SU demo locator online. You can ask them to send you their newsletter so that you can get an idea of what kind of workshops they hold. Or you could ask your friend if her upline holds classes. When I first went demo hunting it was difficult to find what I was looking for. But I perservered and found the BEST demo.
I have a great SU demo. I am in central NY. She is a friend of mine who decided to become a demo about 5 years ago. Once a year in January or February, I host a workshop. Actually it is this Saturday. I usually do well, since most of my friends know I do this annually and so they wait for it. Good for them, good for me!
Check out the demo locators and also check out the demonstrators' websites. If the demo has classes listed, you could try taking one to try him/her out. You can ask if the demo has a workshop coming up that you can go to.

The SU website gas a demo locator. I agree you should call the people closest and ask some questions about how active they are in teaching. See if they have their work online somewhere so you can check it out from home. Also, some SU demo pay for a SU website. I was suggested to me that demos who keep thier websites updated are probably more active with techniques and classes or demos.
