Default Feeding Vellum Through Printer

I have read all the posts on printing on Vellum. My printer is having trouble FEEDING the paper through! I don't have a "transparancy" setting. Does anyone else have any ideas? My printer will pull 2 or 3 sheets and a time and it doesn't line up where it's supposed to when it goes through. I'm going NUTS because I need to print 200 of these for a wedding!
THANK YOU!

Hi Lorri! It's pretty slick and that makes it tough. Use low tack adhesive to tape it lightly to a piece of cardstock and print that way - that's how I do it.

And wow - 200!!

Like Lydia said, taped to copy paper or cardstock is the only way I have ever been able to get it to feed right...

I used to have a printer that was awesome with vellum and transparencies. I loved it and took it for granted that all printers could handle these papers. But NO!! That fabulous printer kicked the bucket and now my printer will NOT print on vellum. I will try to tape it to copy paper.

My friend ended up buying an inexpensive printer from Staples just because A. it fed the paper from the top AND B. printed on vellum and transparencies. That's what I'm planning on doing as soon as I get a Staples coupon.

If I put more then one piece of vellum in the printer at a time it grabs it like you are saying. If I only put one sheet in at a time I don't have a problem. But if you are printing 200 copies that might take a while to sit and hand feed one sheet at a time.

If it is thicker vellum, I feed it through one sheet at a time. I use a regular ink setting and set it aside to dry and use a heat gun (very carefully!). If it is thinner vellum, I tape it to a regular sheet of printer paper, again, one sheet at a time, then set aside to dry (heat gun is too risky on very thin vellum). Sounds like you have a whole days work ahead of you to get 200 done!

For 200, I'd take it to Kinkos.

Ditto - plus you run the chance of having the ink come off on the next sheet unless you sit there and pull off each sheet.

Any time I have a large production job I have it printed for me. In the long run I think it's cheaper considering my time and ink costs. Plus they can cut for you.
