Default Favorite Stampin' Up Stamp Set

I am the hostess this month for our monthly Stampin' Up in color group.
I only get to pick a level 1 hostess set and $15 in merchandise.
I am having a hard time deciding what to get. Sadly the new catalog just didn't excite me this year. Anyone have any suggestions of which stamp set would be the most versatile and excite me a little.

I suppose it depends on what you like to stamp---holidays, birthdays, etc and for what age. I had no problem spending hundreds of dollars on the catalog and still have many more on my list. I have loaned out by catalog so I can't check it out and let you know of all the goodies! If you see something that interests you then I would recommend checking out the galleries for SU--they inspire me to buy things even though I lack the talent that I see I can dream!! Good luck in choosing!!

Country Morning is my favourite Level 1 stamp set. Actually, it is my favourite hostess stamp set period, even more than the level 2's and 3's.

It's probably not that versatile though. I just like the art style.

I got the 6x6 Patterns Pack III in colors not offered in the main catalog. They are great! I like the smaller prints that go well with the scale of cards. I wasn't very interested in the stamp selection either for the level one.

Another vote for the 6x6 patterns pack. I also like the Patterned Pines stamp set in the Holiday mini.

Bummer! I didn't know this was an option.

For a Level I set I really like Holiday Best. Very good variety of styles and they are designed to work with some punches. $15 will cover some inks and/or papers so you can stock up a bit or try some new In Colors.

My favorite Level I set is Country Morning. I also really love the Christmas Tree set in the new Holiday mini!

If you really can't find one you love though, then I'd recommend the DSP packs.

That robot set has paid for itself in my house. I'm a mother with two sons and lots of birthday parties last month (4 or 5... it's all a blur!) and that stamp set jumped into my hand for every card that I made. I figure I'd spend about $4 per card at the store, so I earned my money back for that one. ...for that reason, I think it's a good buy!

I know this thread is a week old, so you've probably picked already. What did you pick?

Thanks to everyone that responded. I ended up getting for my hostess set Holiday Best and for my $15 in merchandise the new ornament punch. Will get the Delightful Decorations stamp set next month. I originally wanted an everyday versatile set, but the Christmas items kept calling to me.

I have been eyeballing that ornament punch, too!! I just picked the 6 x6 paper pack, too. My demo is great, when I said they were ALL yucky, she suggested the paper. Good thing, I didn't even know they were available.
