A friend asked me to make 2 wedding cards for her to use, so I found a couple larger envelopes in my stash and made a couple 5x7 cards. I loved creating for this size! So much so, that I went on to make a birthday card for my best friend that night, and I am not planning to go out and purchase envelopes in that size to keep on hand.
It got me thinking...what is your favorite size card to create?

Mostly I like the European equivalent of American A2, or a 5 3/4" square (luckily we don't pay extra postage for square envelopes here.
I only rarely go 5x7 or bigger, and generally only if I'm following a sketch and need the larger size to accommodate my image. Or for a special order, especially if it's going need space for a bunch of people to write in .
Love your avatar!!
Mostly I make A2 but I was given a huge box of envelopes from a friend who had a gift shop/card store and these were leftover envelopes and I've been using them to make larger cards too - some make a 4 3/4 x 7 card and other a larger 5 1/2 x 8 card. It's been a great way for me to use some of my larger stamps and lots and lots of patterned paper.
Since I mail most of my cards, I try to stick to standard A2. That way there is no worry about extra postage. I want them to get the card after I fussed over it to get it just right!
A2 here also unless I'm sending the card or cards in a package then it's whatever size I want since I make a matching envelope. Larger cards are fun to make, but I hate paying the extra postage!
Well first of all I have a lot of large stamps. Then I just keep merrily working away and thinking of cool layers and die cuts or eyelets, charms... etc. and by the time I'm done it is 5 by 7.
I make quite a few 5 1/2 inch squares, because there's plenty of room for what I want to put on them, and I mostly give/send those to family or dear friends.
If I'm making cards for others to use, I make A2 because they probably don't want to spend the extra postage money. I also put less embellishments on those.
5 x 7 almost always. I buy cartons (250) of white and buff envelopes at the local paper supply warehouse. It's a size that allows for multiple elements: Nestie frames, ribbon or bow, etc. I tend toward larger stamp images anyway.
A-2 seemed to be the norm for stampers over the years, but I just don't see why. It suits note cards and thank you's, I suppose, but everything else seems more appropriate in a larger format.
I almost always make A2 size cards. Mainly because I really don't want the hassle of trying to find envelopes in different sizes plus postage is more for square cards.

I'm guessing it's mostly because one gets two complete (one-layer) cards from a single sheet of 8.5 x 11" cardstock.
I also do mostly A2 but I also do A6, which is aprox. 5 x 6, mainly because I have so many envelopes leftover from Costco photo cards. When I do invitations or special cards, I do 5 x 7 or 5.5 square. For my daughter's Sweet Sixteen, I did square cards and bought a large box of vellum envelopes which I am still using, almost four years later(Goodness, has it been that long?! Where did the time go?).
