Hi all. I am part of an organization called soldier's angels who support our deployed troops. I have just finished mailing mother's Day cards for the troops to send home to the Mom who must surely be applauded for raising these fine young men and women! I can't imagine what it must be like to have your "baby" in harms way day and night! So now I am collecting Father's day cards for those "Dads" who must be just as proud as Moms and just as worried. If yoiu would like to make some Father's day cards for them please mail them to me @ Sue Salsburg 11637 Elton Rd Navarre Oh 44662. If you have any questions please email me at [email protected]. Please also include your email address with the cards you send so that I can forward the thanks from our troops! The cards I mailed for Mother's day were incredible and a friend who does these cards gave me this site~~ I have gotten even more requests for Father's Day cards! It is a wonderful way to show our men and women overseas we have not forgotten about them and we appreciate all they are doing! Thanks for reading this I look forward to hearing from some of you...God Bless our troops Sue
I wanted you all to know how much these cards mean to these soldiers I got the first letter back from one who received mother's day cards--here is part of his email
" I thank you for the cards that you sent me. They were beautiful. I am so glad that you picked me up to sponsor. Please tell everyone who helped they are the best. I am mailing mine home now so Mom will have hers! She will be so surprised. " Percy
Thanks to all who have said they will help with the Father's day cards--more thanks are coming I am sure!!
Sue

Sue
I am so thankful to each of you who have taken on this project ...the need is great!! and I am excited that I will have cards for so many---
This is going to be a wonderful Father's day for many Dads!
Hi Sue: I think this would make a great project for my friends and I at work to give us an excuse to get together to do some stamping and eating. When would you like to have these by?
I would love to have them by the end of April or first week of May-- the mail is slow to some of the Forward Operational bases...My one adoptee is at a base that has no real PX so they jumped at the chance to get some cards to mail home to Dads~~ I guess Walmart has not expanded to Iraq And these soldiers don't have craft time in the sand I am going to start to mail them out as I get enough for the soldiers who are at the bases that the mail takes the longest first(they just redid zipcodes to speed up mail but I am still waiting to hear that the package with the new zip has arrived mailed April 1st) ! The one unit in southern Bagdad seem to get everything I send in just less than 2 weeks. So even if you don't get them done until after the end of April we would still haver plenty of time to send to those with 2 -3 week mail turn around so they can get them and write dad and mail home -- FYI mail home is free!
HI All thanks to all who are helping! I just heard from a medical unit stationed near Baghdad that they would love to have some cards...so the need keeps growing..Thanks
I will be beginning to mail the sets of cards this next week Friday and will continue through the first two weeks of May...((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))) Thanks again to all who are helping the responses has been awesome
it an awesome way to help support our deployed troops...we can use all the help we can get as there are lots of men and women who would love to be adopted ~~ however here is a warning: it can be addictive! LOL
Wow--Thanks to all who have mailed their cards--- the word is out and I have heard from several others that they would like some too...so keep them coming
Hello there. My husband is deployed to a location that usually there are only packages from loved ones, so many of the single folks, and alot of the married folks don't get much.
I was just wondering where you get the lists of zip codes that you send to? If you could email me I would like to ask you if you have their zip code for their location. [email protected]
I did a patriotic swap and we sent over 100 cards there a few months ago. They handed them out at a commanders call, and they ran out. I am sure the folks over there would appreciate what you are doing too.

Hi I wanted you all to know that today I mailed out 40 of your cards to a soldier who emailed me late last night that they had lost a fellow soldier in the fighting near Baghdad~~~ I also included a number of blank cards( what a blessing to have those from you) that the men could send a note to their fallen buddies family! The cards will remind all of those men and women that they are NOT forgotten by us back here!! Thanks just had to share with you!!!
Sue
Sounds like these guys could use a variety of cards. I'm sure many of us have cards lying around in various places. Let's gather them up and put them to good use!
I hope to have more to send some time soon. Am waiting for some stamps to use on "patriotic" type cards.
For everyone else sending cards - I enclosed a couple of dollars to help with postage. I believe Sue is doing this on her own and must pay postage on what she sends on.
Wow, I got a lump in my throat just reading these posts. I'll be putting some cards together and sending them out to you Sue. What a fantastic cause!

Hi! my daughter and I made about 20 Father's Day cards this weekend and some other general cards that I wanted to send your way. Is it too late for Father's Day? This is a wonderful project. I see there is someone else doing this on another thread which is too bad. She asked that each card & envelope be in it's own ziplock bag to keep it clean. Do you want them sent in seperate baggies?
Thanks.
