Question Fastenator? Ways to use it.

I bought one of these in the spring and I haven't really used it more than once. Does anyone have some ideas to help me use it more often? TIA

I don't have anything brilliant. I use it to attatch ribbon at the top of bookmarks, or on a card, or just as a metal accent somewhere. Maybe someone else has a wonderful idea that will benefit all owners of the rediculously large stapler! I just had a funny thought: I'm a teacher. Wouldn't it be funny to put mine on my desk and see the teenaged reactions? Boys would be the most intrigued by it. They can't even leave the regular stapler alone!

Oh... you got to put that on your desk. I just got to heard what they come up with for uses.... or just one look from you, what their reactions are....LOL...LOL... way too funny... Faith, who will be checking back for the out come....

I never thought about posting this question, but I own one and bought it very cheaply. Now, I have a great collection of colored staples, and...you guessed it. Haven't used the monster -- not even once and it is still in its original packaging. Can anyone really creative help us out here? Otherwise, I'm trading this dude for something I will really use. I like that it was called ridiculously large because it really is!

Sibylle,

You might have more luck getting answers to this question in the general forum? Good luck!

LOL Ladies!!!!! I purchased one when they first came out and have used it TONS!

I make paperbag scrapbooks.......i use the fastenator to hold them together....sorta like a binding....amongst other ways to hold them together.

I have attached ribbon, material, thin chipboard, and zippers to scrapbook pages with my fastenator.

I have also attached yarn and ribbon to chipboard

A friend of mine made a ceiling tile for her daughter at our hospital. she used the fastenator to decorate the tile with all kinds of ribbon, embellishments, etc. (i know not everyone is going to make a ceiling tile to go in a hospital but it is really cute)

I have also attached jean pockets to one of my scrapbook pages with the fastenator.

I love it cause you can use it anywhere on a 12X12 piece of cardstock!!

Have you seen the CUTE staples that they have for Christmas????? Really cute!

HTH

OMG! I just stumbled upon this thread and I am laughing because I, too, bought this thing (back in April) along with a bunch of colors of staples, and it is still in it's package, never used! Once I had it, I couldn't think of anything to DO with it!
Thanks to Janice for some great ideas!

I used mine to make 5x7 Christmas Cards last year. I matted red on green and used the holiday saying staples to adhere the mats. Everone loved it

I too am guilty of buying one and having never used it. It's still in the package. And yes, there's a couple of extra packages of colored fasteners. Someone come up with a great sample and post it please!

I couldn't see buying the big one and trying to store it in my already cramped room so I bought the little one. Besides the things mentioned, I've used it when making matchbook cards.

I've seen one of the giant word staples used as a kind of faux ribbon slide. The ribbon was going up and down on the card, and the word staple was placed crosswise to the ribbon, and I had to think for a second before I realised it was a staple. that example got me looking at the Fastenator, but it just doesn't seem to fit my style otherwise.

Do you know that there is a paper guide on the Fastenator. You press it with your thumb on either side and it slides back and forth so you can get perfect placement of your staple each time. I didn't notice this the first couple of times I used it!

I use the staples but not the stapler. The staples can be used just like the conchos and use a foam mat behind to push through the paper then fold down the little tabs in the back...
