I just ordered prismacolor pencils for .88 each from Art Supplies and Materials at Jerry's Artarama. I sure hope it's for real. Has anyone ever done business with them? I think they are based in Raleigh, NC.
Yes, they are for real. We have a store here in town. I don't frequent them regularly because I really don't like the kids they hire to work there, but everything is on the up and up. The 88 cents is a great price for prismas...I may have to go get some replacements. They have those good sales occasionally. Enjoy your pencils!
I've never ordered from them because we have a local store - I've never had any problems with any of their merchandise - it's always been good quality.
We have a store here too, great prices and if you are a student, I think you get a discount. It's mostly a serious artist's store but there are many things we can use in stamping and scrapbooking. I'm not saying we aren't serious artists, but you know what I mean. I have purchased prismacolor pencils, watercolor pencils, watercolor crayons, and Pearl Ex from them and they have a larger selection and better prices than any of the craft/art stores. They also have copics, but I don't use them so I don't know how good the prices are.
I have a store in my town too- we have a local school coupon book that has a 20% off coupon off of non-sale prices- it's a great deal (but I have used all three that I had- I may have to beg for another one). They do sell copics and are a good price
I ordered a bunch of Twin Touch markers from them. I was pleased with the prices and they shipped very quickly. They sent me one of their catalogs, and they have lots of what I call "serious" art supplies.
