I just want to check in with my cyber friends.
Until several months ago I was relatively healthy and active on my blog and card making. All.of a sudden things changed. I had a hysterectomy due to endometrial cancer. Additional tests showed it had spread some. No surgery due to danger of injuring other organs. . Long story short, I have had a couple of rounds of chemo as well as radiation. Brain scans showed a benign non growing brain tumor. anemia and medication have reduced energy to zilch. We were in AZ and most family in CO. Our family found a way for Erling to travel so we were able to move to a home in CO Springs. Our daughter, a PA, visits here almost daily - a plus. Our daughter in law and son were stuck wit emptying the house... not yet done.
Adding you to my prayer list, Dorothy. You have been missed and thanks for the update!

Dorothy, I am so happy you got with most of your family. It is hard when they are scattered. I am so glad to hear from you. Please know you will be in my prayers.

Dorothy,
I'm so happy to see you here again! I am so sorry to hear about your health. I am praying for all of you. What a blessing to be able to be near your kids. I saw in another post you might not have the energy to make cards. If you need cards with envelopes, please let me know. I'd be happy to send some to you. I am the Mentor of New Members of the Birthday Random Acts of Kindness Group. I've been part of SCS for lots of years as I know you have as well.
Blessings,
Sue

Dorothy, I rarely browse around on splitcoaststampers, but had time to do so today. I see you are on the April BRAK list. By chance can you share your forwarding address in Colorado? (private message is fine) You have a great papercraft store in the Springs - Simple Pleasures. When you have enough energy for an outing, I highly recommend it! I shall be praying for your cancer and for you to settle in nicely in your new home, new town, and new routine. God is great and to be praised!
Oh dear stamping friend...keeping you close to heart and in prayers. So happy you have a loving and devoted family, and you can now be close to them. Keeping your crafting is so important. I've been there with cancer...crafting, even in very small bits is a lovely distraction from life stress. Take care.

If you check the RAK address list it has Dorothy's new address. I had already sent my card to the old one on the BRAK list but hopefully it will get returned.
Sabrina,
I saw on another thread where cards will be redirected to her new address.

Thank you for all the prayers, thoughts and good wishes. It is good to ear from so many long time friends.
Mail should be sent on, but of course the new address will be faster. when our family goes back to finish the house I will hope to get some of the half finished cards I have there. Our poor daughter in law will have to sort out the craft room...and I have to keep that "do not discard: list to a minimum
Sorry cannot send individual replies. Just know how much I appreciate keeping in touch.
Just a few more details. We each have a room in a full time nursing facility. The rooms adjoin. I call my room the day room - with TV and a recliner for DH, and meals. He goes to his room to sleep. It is a good arrangement for us.
Just happened upon this thread today- I will add you to my prayers list Dorothy! It is such a blessing to be closer to your family and have a family member that is medical that can keep a close eye on your medical issues!
I wish for you peace and each day to feel as good as is possible. Prayers for the cancer to be well targeted by the chemo and radiation!
Dorothy (etsdas) e-mailed me with her new mailing address and asked that I pass it along because her computer access and vision is limited. I'm sure she would love getting a flurry of cards from us all! Erling and Dorothy Schultz

Maybe we could also send her finished cards so she can send cards to others. It might make her feel better if she could still send cards even if she can't make them. What do you think?

Hi Dorothy,
I also just came across this thread, while browsing, and wanted to wish you the best with your health concerns and move. I'm sure your entire family feels better having you and your husband close by, and I'm glad you've found a comfortable place to live.
It sounds like you've been through such a lot lately and my prayers are with you.

I have the most unfortunate news update on Dorothy.“Hello to friends of Erling and Dorothy Schultz,
I know that Dorothy sent an update a couple weeks ago. She had a little trouble with that email. I am sorry to inform you that Dorothy passed away last Friday, July 23 in the late afternoon. Erling and her children and spouses were with her when she passed away. She fought cancer for as long as she could. She was blessed to have visits from all of her grandchildren and all of Erling's siblings in the last week.
Erling is doing well. He is being well taken care of and is near family. COVID makes visits hard at his facility but we do the best we can. If you want to send a note to Erling, you can send them to his daughter who will hand deliver them to his facility. She works there and can visit daily.
Deb's address is
Erling Schultz c/o Deb DeBauche 12150 Northcliff Rd Elbert, CO 80106
Blessings to you, Paul and Janet Schultz son and daughter in law to Dorothy and Erling”

How heartbreaking. Dare to Get Dirty won't be the same without her :(
I am so saddened by this news. Dorothy was an amazing lady. Prayers for her family.

I wasn't lucky enough to get to know Dorothy on SCS, but it's always sad to lose a member of the crafting community. She sounded like a warm and thoughtful person. Thank you for letting us know so we can send a card.
Karen
I really hate to read this news. It is so sad when one of our crafters passes away. She was so involved on this site. I will get a card in the mail. I know her family will miss her dearly.
