I just got my first set of the scallop circles from Polkadot Plaza and today I got an email that they are on sale! I know they are backordered everywhere so I ordered the rest of the circles. Oh and they have that new monogram stamp thing too on sale, not sure how I feel about that thing. I've seen a few cute things done but wasn't sure if I could use any inkpad or only theirs. Anyone have it?

The monogram stamp is great!! I have the wooden circle one that you can use any ink pad you want. The other one is a self inking one that you can use any refill with. I have no refills and didn't want to invest the $$ into those. Did I say I love the monogram stamp?!!

Thanks for the tip on the nestabilities!!!
There are two?? Where can I get the wooden one? Is it like a wood block like normal rubber stamps, just ink and stamp??
So the smaller kits come with a wooden block stamp that you can use just by itself right? Just want to make sure I'm understanding this correctly before I get it.
I've only ordered from them once and they shipped the very next day and the shipping was only $2 (but they offer priority too if you need it faster) Thanks for the link to the small set, I'm off to shop!
Hmmm.... I don't see the attraction for that sale price. A complete set of the square ones would be $90. I an order them from www.ucutathome.com for $57 including shipping if I use the VIP coupon.
By the way, I just checked the shipping at their website and its awesome. They have a shipping calculator so you can choose your rate based on method. I live in Ca and they must be based here because I do have to pay tax, but I can have a set shipped for $1.86 regular mail or $4.80 priority. Whoo Hoo!! Finally a company that gets the shipping issues we all have when ordering online. I think they have earned my business.
Can you use the Nestabilities with a Cuttlebug? I'm about to buy some!
Yes, that's what I have and that's what I use with them and it works perfect. I've seen a ton of posts on how to layer the plates. To cut you use the A plate, C plate, the nestabilitie, then B plate. When you run it through again to emboss you use the A plate, B plate (with no marks on it, I did that and then it pushed in all the cuts and embossed them on my cutout). Then you use a polymer mat (i just use about 8 pieces of scrap cardstock I keep with my bug) and the B plate again.

Don't laugh, but I'm not sure what Nestabilities are. I followed your link and clicked on Nes. I see a bunch of different sizes of the same shape. Are they stamps? Diecuts?? Can someone explain???
ucutathome.com is that price all the time, plus you can use the 40% off coupon once a month...JMHO.
Yea, I like their prices too but I ordered from them once but it took almost a month for them to get it in stock and ship it. I'm patient, but not THAT patient. :-D I don't like how you can order it when it's not available and they don't tell you "out of stock" or anything. I don't know how any of these place can keep up with the demand. But they do have the new holiday cuttlebug folders for pre-order so I might have to give them another shot!

Nesties are dies that work with most of the diecut machines out there! I don't have them yet, but sure have been wanting to get them! I have the old red Sizzix and from what I understand, ladies to get it to work with my old red I will need:
Nesties of choice
tan rubber mat
magnetic adapter for Sizzix
white plastic spacer sheet that came with Sizzix
Anything else, or will that be all to get the ball rolling?

I always use the recipe and tips from Ellen Hutson her info is fantastic! And if you keep reading all the back posts you'll see tons of info and ideas on the Nesties ladies. I'd be lost without mine, I use them ALL the time!

OK so I'm confused. IT says for example Nestabilities - Scallop Square (small). But then it shows a picture of all of them. So is that for just ONE die?

No, they come in sets, 5 dies per set. They have two sizes for each shape because they are perfect layers set at 1/4", so if you like a tighter layer of 1/8" then you'll want both small & large and use them together. I know it sounds confusing but it's really not, here is a FAQ on them that I thought was really helpful....then I bought every single shape and size. HAHAHAHA

Rose, I had the same issue with ucutathome too (took a month to get my hearts) but they do have a blog that they update to let people know what's in stock. I think their Nesties are all currently all on backorder except the Petite Ovals. HTH

Another question... What is Spellbinders tan polymer mat and can I buy that anywhere I get the nestibilities?
Ha! No worries, I was totally addicted once I read that post too....I warned ya! HAHAH
Its a rubber mat that allows you to push the paper in a bit to get that embossed edge. I personally got the one in the Ellison texture plate kit from Michael's and used my coupon. It works great! (plus I got the cool texture plates). You should be able to get them anywhere the Nesties are sold, but I heard they are on back order too so you might want to email whoever you're buying from, or check out your local scrap store or Michaels for the ones by Ellison.

According to PTI, the nesties and the foam are in order. I've got it in my cart just hesitating hitting 'submit'. I have so many toys... But hear so much about these and would LOVE to make my sister a nice set of one layer (that you see so much of with the emobossing rectangle) thank you cards for her wedding. So hmmm.... to order or not to order.........

Oh I know, I have every single shape and size. Oye the addiction! I did a really cute one layer card here for a stamp challenge on Paper Pretties, the cool part if you can mask the inside using your cut out and then stamp around it to make a border if you want. Love it!!

I LOVE your blog! I just subscribed. This card is fabulous. Now I really can't wait to get my nesties!
OK I have to know...where did you get the chick coming out backwards out of the egg?? Too cute!
Clear Dollar Stamps just released a monogram set that is somewhat similar to the monograms referenced here, but no special items needed to use theirs. It's just a basic set of clear stamps with some borders and circles and much cheaper and I would think easier to store. It appears you can configure them any way you want as you're not tied down to a specific setup. I believe they also fit the Nestabilities classic circle and classic scallop circle (that's my plan anyway!). I just got my stamps today, so I guess it's time to play. A LOT cheaper for these than the other, too. I think the set is called Imperial Monogram and they have some mockups on the CDS web site on how you can use them. www.cdstamps.com

Thanks!! Yea that stamp is definitely fun, I made a card for my friend at work who just had a really BAD day, she laughed her tail off!! It's by Paper Pretties (same as the adorable little girl stamp I used on that card I sent you).

okay you asked for it. Nestabilities are made by Spellbinders!
1st! Spellbinders has the best buy for your buck hands down! Their dies allow you to cut, emboss and stencil. They are really 3 in 1 dies! I got rid of my Marvy punches when Spellbinders came out with the Nestabilities. The Nestabilities shapes take up almost no space at all. The Marvy punches are space hoggers too.
2nd! You can use competitors dies in the Wizard machine. The Wizard also smashes bottlecaps (for making cute charms, necklaces, embellishments, bracelets, bookmarks etc.) You can set multiple eyelets at once. Why do you need to do this you ask?? I'll post a pic of a cute card I received from a friend. So so cute! When I saw it, I immediately thought of the Wizard for setting the eyelets all at once. YOu can also decorate a green paper in the shape of a Christmas tree and have all eyelets decorating the tree like ornaments. So easy. You can emboss metal, ....wait! I should just share the link so you can read for yourself. I'm rambling. Ha ha
They have videos to show you all the different things you can do with the Wizard. Take a look.
One last point I want to make. The Marvy punches are running $14 - $20 for one shape. For instance the big circle scallop. With Spellbinders you get 6 different sizes for $24.99 Huge savings..... money and space.
check it out and let me know what you think! Feel free to PM me if you have any other questions. I'm not an expert, nor do I work for them, just sharing my thoughts on why I love them so!
Cheers! Elizabeth
Oh! There are some beautiful layouts made with some of their dies in links below. Check out the close up pics!
