I've started to "really" clean my stamp room. In order to do this, I've boxed up most of my stamps (the ones that need to be cleaned are "waiting"). In the meantime, I decided to organize my punches.
Who knew I had 2 oval mega scalloped punches??? Who knew I had so many punches in general? Good grief, I have a ton!!
I haven't even started to clean off the 3 tables in my room and I'm afraid of what other duplicates I will find.
What duplicates have you bought by mistake?
ps. not selling the extra punch...

I think I have lots of duplicates on purpose because I tend to hoard things. I always have extra on everything for my scrapbooking because I would hate for something to run out or not be able to get it later. I love when I buy something thinking how cute it is....then get home and I already have it...well, obviously I really did like it...the first and second time.

I have at least two unopened bottles of Crystal Effects, plus the partial one I've been using.....I'm in the middle of unpacking after a move & setting up my craft room, so there is no telling what I will find....
Somehow I bought two large jars of UTEE. I will never in a million years use all that stuff! Although with the luck -- all bad -- that I've been having trying to do the cracked glass technique, I may use it all up on things that wind up in the trash!

Seriously? I love cracked glass. What kind of problems are you having?
Lois, don't give up on cracked glass!! Keep doing layers and layers of the ep. And believe me, you'll use all you've got after awhile.
I'm usually very aware of what I have, whether I use it or not. The only thing I've bought doubles of, of all things, is the old reinker for the wheel cartridges in only orange!

I just helped my MIL do an inventory on her stampin stuff. She had 5 refills for silver encore ink, 2 "close to nature" sets, she had ordered "fishy friends" and we found a new unmounted set in her cupboard, luckily she was able to cancel the order; there was one other set she had two of and didn't realize it; tons of twill tape and several unopened packages of other ribbons and accents and I'm sure there was other stuff I can't remember right now. We were very careful that my FIL didn't find the inventory sheets. He's always griping about the money she spends on her hobby (addiction). She never would have heard the end of it!

Duplicate BG stamps, assorted stamps, Apricot Appeal ink cartridges, and 2 sets of clear buttons. I knew that I had accidentally selected the buttons twice, but I could not figure out how to delete the second set from my SU OEX order!!
Uh yeah I did a couple of these type of duplicate purchases.. bought 2 of the same sizzix die once, bought more than one of the same size acrylic block, coluzzle template, lol! Not too big a deal but it was annoying. I was buying so much there for a while that I was just going crazy and didn't realize what I had. Luckily I had the receipts still.

I have bought duplicate stamps and didn't realize it until I entered them in Excel. I gave those to my daughter who really appreciated them. They were really nice too. One was Looks like spring.
Of course I have duplicate paper but that is okay. Now I really check my excel listings for duplicate stamps pads (done that too) and my daughter and granddaughters do appreciate the extras.
Update -- I have 3 identical SU corner rounder punches!! One I use for scallops, but what on earth was I thinking???
(nope, not in a selling mood for these either...)

Darn, Joan, I would have bought the punch from you!!
When the whole goody box idea was going around a while back, I got in for just this reason. I had some wonderful stamps from Michael's that I had bought duplicates of. (The Hatteras Lighthouse and a beautiful fern come to mind.) So, they went in the goodie box.
Since then, I've been more careful. Duplicate paper is not a big deal. I started keeping a notebook with lists of things that I might accidentally duplicate. I used to buy embossing powder at M's, so I have a list of all my colors. I have a list of punches. I keep an alphabetized list of my SU sets on a pen drive, and update it whenever I buy new stamps. I used to
do a lot of counted cross stitch, so I kept a list of color numbers I had in my wallet.
By the way, I do not recommend doing a goodie box.
I wanted the set Haute Couture. The lady (on Ebay) wouldn't take a personal check, only playpal. I won't do paypal. Thank goodness...........went back out & looked through the sets & there it was. I'd already bought it on Ebay. LOL Glad she only takes paypal
My sister, who quit stamping years ago, offered me her stuff (some of which I've given her). I'm wondering if there will be any duplicates among it. I have no idea what she has as we live on opposite coasts.

Lots of duplicates here!!! Usually eyelets and brads... I get to Joanns and they are all on sale and I can't stop... such a good deal!!! Some stamps I must really like a lot cuz I'll find another just like it. My daughter gets them or one of my stamping friends.
Lois, I feel your pain with the cracked glass!!!! I try and try and it always has parts that pull off the cardstock. I'm going to get it one of these days
Well, I feel better. I just ordered the same punch from Joann's twice this week- it is the victorian slot corner punch... sigh. I tried to cancel but (one hour after I placed it) it already was in the warehouse!!! I really wanted it, but someone "forgot" I had already placed the Joann's order a few days before??? LOL.
I have free shipping, but don't know if it is worth the expense to return it...
I almost just ordered a wheel that I had forgotten that I already got in a trade, but luckily I found the wheel the day before I put the order through! Whew!

Yep, this all sounds familiar...2 1 1/2 inch circle punches (kept forgetting which one I needed and which I had), 2 sets of stardust gelly roll pens in about a 2 week period (went on an ordering spree and bought from 2 different US stores), I haven't bought too many duplicates but it is bound to happen again...I buy too much stuff!
I finally had to put a note on my reinker basket saying, "No, you do not need any more Certainly Celery or Elegant Eggplant!" I think I have three of each...

I have an extra Stamp-a-ma-jig, meant to send the second one back and exchange it for a few markers--but life got really hectic--so now I have a back up.
I was cleaning and organizing my stamp "stuff" the other day and low and behold I have two sets of reinkers for bold brights and none for rich regals. Guess I'm going to be making a lot of bright -colored cards and now I need reinkers for my rich regal pads,
I went to Archiver's a few weeks ago and bought a bottle of Primas. When I got home, it was the same colors as another bottle I already have. Oh well, it was on sale.. lol.
I've always considered doing an inventory of all my stuff and carrying it around with me so when I'm in the "buying mood" I can cross reference it. Like that will ever happen.. lol
And-- a 'zillion' RSVP pens I just 'had to have' to make the beaded pens...now--if I can ever get away from this computer, they just might see their way out of the drawer....lol ;)
