Default drywall tape and color application

Hello all! I am playing with drywall tape and I sponged on color from my classic pads but I noticed it was stick 'wet' the next morning. Should I heat set it?

Also, has anyone tried to emboss it?

I found at Lowes Home Improvement various widths of drywall tape including 6" wide! Too cool! Now I want to make it lots of different colors.

Final question: I know it may not be photo safe, but do you think if it is not touching my pictures it would be ok? My albums are fun albums and any important pictures are kept separate and I have original copies in safe places.

Thanks everyone!
Vera

I think you can emboss it. I did heat set my classic ink on my DWT. You can use a brayer or a sponge or even spray paint. I used chalks also, experiment and have fun

I color my Drywall tape (AKA magic mesh) with Sharpie Pens - I just stick it to a scrap piece of paper and use the side of the sharpie to color it - I have not been able to use the classic inks with any luck!

Hope my 2 cents helps!

Default Drywall mesh

Try using Staz-on on the drywall mesh. It doesn't leave it as wet. I have tried it once and it worked real good. It comes in lots of colors. As for imbossing powder try it with versa mark.

Ditto to what Sylvia said. I couldn't get mine to color with the classic pads either. I use sharpies. I got a pack of 14 at Staples. They got the coolest colors. Some even matched, like old olive and more mustard.

Great tip about the sharpies! I have lots of colors! I will definitely emboss with my metallic ep's!
