Default Driving me nuts!

Does anyone have some suggestions for using the large background stamps?

I've tried both classic and pigment inks, putting the cardstock on the stamp (placed rubber side up), and stamping the c/s in the normal way, and I just can't seem to get it to cover the whole piece of paper. Or it smears...

I love the look of the background stamps that the SCS posts, but am feeling pretty lame in my attempts.

Can anyone help?

Two words: Butt Stamping.

Seriously! Do a search, and you'll find it's the wave of the future! We're all trying it!

Here's a post with details of LunarLana's Just Jeans obsession. Her backgrounds are always perfect due to her fine form!

for the really big background stamps, try inking it with a brayer. the coverage is more even and consistent. Also, try putting your CS on the floor, put your stamp down, and CAREFULLY step on it to get enough pressure to imprint the whole image.
Hope that helps.

I have a piece of 1/4" thick fun foam that I put down under my cardstock. Then I ink the stamp and press it down. The fun foam has just enough "give" to help me make a clear impression.

I use a mouse pad as a cushion. This seems to work for me. However, butt stamping sounds like more interesting.

I lay the stamp rubber side up, ink it, and lay the cardstock on it, then I rub across the cardstock with a bone folder. It works perfect for me!
