sorry, that was what i meant. i can't find my holiday mini. not only did i forget how much they cost, i must've forgotten what they're called!
I found some stitched ribbon very similar to SU's at Michaels. I bought a roll each of "Real Red," "Close to Cocoa," "Pumpkin Pie," and even "Cool Caribbean." I'm going to keep my eye out for any more that show up! They were $1.99 each.

Since these are colors of ribbon that SU does not carry, then certainly another outlet is a good alternative.
However, I have found that the lower price is often deceptive because the cheaper rolls usually contain alot less ribbon. I used to always buy my white organdy ribbon from Joanns-thought it was much cheaper because the rolls were about $2 or so. Then one day I did the math (yardage vs price) and found that the Joanns ribbon was almost double the costs of the SU ribbon because the SU rolls were so much larger.
yes, I have to be very careful as well and figure out the price per foot on these ribbons, as most of the ribbons at Michael's, JoAnn's, AC Moore, etc only have at most 5 yards of ribbon and most even less, as they list it in *feet*, so some people look and see 12 and assume it is yards, when in fact it is 12 feet (4 yards). Just check the cost per foot to make sure you are really getting a deal!
BTW, those colors for stitched ribbon sound totally awesome! What brand of ribbon is it?

I knew there was less ribbon on these rolls than on SU's rolls. I don't have the catalog in front of me (I'm at work), but I didn't see any single rolls of that ribbon except for the In Color colors. I recall seeing "sets" of ribbons with some stitched ribbon included. Am I wrong in thinking that?

On page 234 of the catalog, the Ribbon Originals show an assortment of 5 designs of ribbon on a card, approx. 2 yards of each ribbon, for $9.95 (US). Each card contains two colors of stitched ribbon.
