Does anyone scrapbook their special cards?
Some of my favorite cards have special meaning to me. I may have received a RAK just at the time I needed it, or I waited sooooo loooong to find a certain stamp set that when I got it in my hot little hands I was just about bursting at the seams to make that one project I had been waiting so long for.
The other day I was looking at my wall of favorite cards and thought back to why they were put up there to begin with. Each one had a story.
So I have decided to scrapbook them, adding a journal of why it was so special to me. I can't imagine anyone in my family who would be interested in reading it, but when I am old and arthritic and can't stamp anymore, I know that it will give me great joy.
I scrapbook all the homemade cards I receive. I love to go back to look through the book occasionally and see how everyone's styles change and new techniques they try. I just couldn't bring myself to throw them away since I know how much time and effort goes into them!
I have done this on occasions. Like if I'm scrapping a birthday card and I have the invitations or special thank you cards or something. I think it's a very good idea.
the thought has always been there to scrapbook certain cards I just haven't gotten around to do this since I am into the cardmaking so much now, that I haven't scrapbooked in about a year now.Gotta get back to it.

It's someone who buys stamps they didn't normally like at first, only to see it in Split Coast Stampers gallery in a different perspective.
I have always included my homemade invitations, thank yous, cards, etc. on the scrapbook pages that I do. When my children were small, they always matched their party themes. Instant embellishments!
I Love the idea!!! I think I just might do that. I wish I would have thought about that a long time ago. Mine are also on shelves in my scrapbooking room. Thanks for the idea!!!
That is a good idea. i haven't scrapbooked any of them but I save them all. i have tons scrattered here and there. They are not acid free so they should not touch a photo, but it would be good to do a scrapbook of just cards.
What a good idea! I have tons of cards from special times just lying around. Never knew what to do with them. Now I have some inspiration!! Thanks for sharing!

Yahoo - I started this project yesterday! I have a scrapbook that a friend found for me at Winners (the price was right) that has a chocolate theme. Originally I fussed about being able to match the cards to the paper, but I was less worried about it as I got going. I simply used which cardstock mixed with the paper that came with the album, and mounted the cards on a piece of black cardstock to make them pop. I kept it to a minimum (I tend to collage too much) because I wanted to make sure the cards were a focal point. I just put on a few primas here and there, and stamped some small holly images on the Christmas page. I find it is going really fast.
The first page was 2 of my first projects, then I made up a section called "Pretty Things" which has my favorite creations. I also have a 2 page spread for the Christmas Cards for the Troops projects, and another page for "Christmas gone by" that has a copy of one of my last 2 years Christmas projects. I am going to do another section for RAK's received/sent. When this is all in place, then I will just put them in the book in cronological order, broken down by years and special events.
