Default does anyone know if.....

I can stamp on a piece of acetate and then glue it down with out the glue showing thru?

Basically I am wanting to stamp a jar from All Wrapped Up and stamp a frog behind it but I don't want the glue to show thru.

Any tips here?

Thanks!
Jodi

I've heard crystal effects works but haven't tried personally. I use brads. Is there any way to use brads if you don't have crystal effects?

Do you mean using crystal effects to glue the acetate down or to fill in the jar with to give the look of glass?

I was thinking about doing that and even bought a grey craft pad to emboss the outline of the jar with (what the heck am I going to use a grey craft pad for otherwise????) but I keep coming back to an acetate jar.

Thanks again!
Jodi

Maybe you could use liquid glue just around the edges?

I have some little transparent mounting squares that I got from Stampin' Up several years ago. Only use them once in a long while.... come on over this evening and I'll give you some. (Of course, if I knew where you live it could be a real invitation.)

you might try mono multi, it dries clear and sticks to acetate real well, used it for my boxes with clear windows.

Or glue it down on the edges and then frame the image in CS to hid the glue.

I made a window and put the acetate between 2 layers, so no adhesive showed. Then I stamped the inside of the card with what I wanted to show thru. I found a nice fish bowl and use a craft knife and scissors to cut the stamped shape, just inside the stamped image. The fish bowl is the same on both sides so I can make a second to use on the inside of the card- then it looks like you're looking thru the glass. I then stamped on vellum or acetate with fish frolics (Ithink). HTH

I would love to see a sample of this! It sounds great!

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. Unfortunately, a xyron is not in my budget but I am loving all the other suggestions. Hopefully I will get to try these ideas in the next day or two.

I was hoping someone else would have replied about the crystal effects. I've heard it used as an adhesive but I'm not sure if acetate is too heavy. Xyrons are also out of my budget as well.

Usually I take pics of my favs, didn't do that either :( I've not gotten to upload stage yet. Only been online a year, learned e-bay and found SCS a couple months ago) I'm on vac this week- I was gonna do some cleaning, but guess i'll try the upload. Stay tuned.

Someone had mentioned to me that the new Vellum glue dots work well for acetate and vellum, and are about $7-8.00 in Canada. I bought some but haven't tried it yet. Good luck.
