I actually liked this set and was thinking about putting it on my wish list. I'm suprised that there are so many people who don't like it!

I was also disappointed in the set. I LOVE the wheel though!! I got it on my first order. For $28.95 there are other sets I like better. The flower/stem is the only stamp i liked in the set.
O'please SU come out with a better faux ribbon stamp and a better faux stitched set!!!!!

I don't dislike it; it's just not my taste in stitched images. ;)

You know, I didn't even notice it when I went through the catty but pulled it up when I read this thread. I actually think this is cute! It would look great on a quilt pattern in a card, and the off stitching is kind of that country sampler look. I am not a serious stitcher either, but I thought this was a different addition to the catty.

This set's not for me. I did just get a sewing set from Close to my Heart which I really like ... Faux stitching, cute sewing sentiments and cute stitched flowers. I totally thought SU! was going to come out with something similar. Also because of the Hero Arts faux stitching sets as well. Oh well.

I think they could have made this set WAY cuter! That stitched look is "sew" in right now, but I don't like the style they chose.

Wink

I think the pumpkin bothers me the most, and also the fact that if you stare at the page, the stitches make you a bit dizzy.

OK, for those of you going to convention and you get this set FREE(?) BTW it is $28.95. If anybody wants to give it (free) to me, I'll take it, but I'll want the wheel too, which I can buy. I can see this with the bg's: Aida Cloth, Linen, Canvas, the Flannel Plaid with the Christmas tree and tiny rick-rack. You could use buttons w/ flower or tree, and even with the pumpkin. Dot your J in enjoy with a tiny button. OMGosh, I think I'm liking this more and more!

I don't really like it either. I don't hate it, but it seems rather expensive ($28.95) for what it is...simple stick drawings! But have to say, I must have the wheel.

I keep thinking that stem would be just the thing for that weeds saying in the Gnomes set! Anyhow ... I'll happily eat my words and admire the forthcoming creations!

This is what I'd hoped for, too! Something long like Trimtastic with a variety of stitches. Now that would've been awesome! I,too, was disappointed, but I'm sure others will like it.

You are so lucky, I waited to see if SU set would be similar and now it is to late to get it from CTMH.

It's totally not my taste and I don't sew either but the wheel would make really cute scrapbook pages and the stamp set goes really well with some of the awesome sewn 3-d accents from Joleen's botique and would go well with them.

[quote=danne4]My initial thought was.... wow, if someone got paid to design that set... I could easily come up with some of my own designs and sell them.
Funny you should say that, I've thought the same thing about all those stick legged characters like the cowboy, birthday beauty and pirate. Sorry, I know many think they are cute, I just feel like they are rather simplistic!!! But it seems to fit the style right now!

I'm a cross-stitcher and will definitely be getting all of the cross stitch-related stamps (my stitching friends will be so impressed!) I'm not crazy for the Sew Seasonal, but I never say never because my demo seems to come up with the cutest cards using my least favorite stamps!
