Default Do you have stamps you have never used?

So I went through my stamps yesterday and seperated all the stamps I have never used into a separate container so I can use them all. And I have 40 stamps I have never used! I couldn't believe it! So now I'm putting myself up to using them all. So do you have stamps you've never used? If so, How many do you think you have?

I do! I have an alphabet set that has never seen ink and also another set that I HAD to have (alphabet soup) that has also never seen ink! You have got me to thinking though, so my new project is to go through my stamps (I am sure there are more than just those 2) and check out the gallery for those sets for some inspiration I am horrible in that I see things on blogs and think "I could do that!" and go looking for the set that was used. Then I buy it and forget about the fabulous thing that prompted me to get it in the first place. So glad to know that there is at least one other person out there besides me who has stamps that they have not used!

Lol, yes. More than I care to admit.

I sold off about 100 SU! sets a year ago right before we moved. I used that money to splurge on a bunch of stamp sets from other companies and have also continued to buy from a monthly club that I'm in. I haven't used any of them because we were busy building our home and even though the home is done, my stamp room is not.

I'm planning a trip to Ikea this weekend, and will then finish my room. After that, my family might not see me very much for a while, lol. ;)

We all have that.....stamps and MORE that we have never used!! There just aren't enough hours in the day to do all the stamping and creating that I want to do! I have all my current Stampin' Up! stamps, paper and accessories handy to my kitchen table, but all the extra/retired is in a bedroom. If I would walk in there before I ordered, I would never order another thing! It's a sickness...but a good one!

Absolutely! I'm currently finishing my new craft area and moving back in and organizing. Like you steph108, I also have a goal to grab a set that has never seen ink and challenge myself to use it on a project or two until all have been used at least once. I have some SU sets that haven't even been mounted yet. So sad. You are not alone. I'd guess that I have at least 40 (probably more) that have not been used. Saying it out loud...ouch. I'm also planning to split up my sets to organize them better for me to make them easier to use.

Like Wannabestampin', my craft area has been non-existent for about 18 months. We had a generator installed and the gas and electrical went through that portion of the basement so I moved everything out of that area. It's a walkout with nice natural light and I told myself I wouldn't move back in until I semi-finished the space. Walls are drywalled and painted and carpet just went down on Wednesday. I really want to organize and purge as I move back in so it will take longer but hopefully be worth it in the end. My purchases, however, did not slow down one bit so I have sooooo many bags and boxes of unused goodies that I just had to have. It will be like Christmas in summer! Yeah...I'm thinking waaay more than 40 sets, plus all sorts of paper and goodies.

Since I have stamped a separate page for each of my stamp sets, I have inked them all at least once!

I have three sets that haven't been used yet, but I've purchased them in the last two months. I'm just not getting as much stamping time lately. Now I do have quite a few individual stamps I haven't used, i.e. part of a stamp set where I used some of the stamps in the set and not others. When things settle a bit here I'm going to challenge myself to use those stamps before using ones I've already used several times.

I hate to admit it, but I've ordered so many stamp sets and accessories, hoping that I would get inspired to start stamping again, and I haven't used ANY of them yet!!!! Lol. I have a craft room with every kind of craft in it and for some reason I just can't get motivated to use any of it. It's kind of depressing! At a guess, I would say maybe 50-60 stamp sets. WOW :(

We moved to a different state last summer, and I am so particular about how everything is wrapped, I packed my craft room. I could NOT believe how unused stuff I had. I decided to sort through the stamps before the move so that I could Ebay, garage sale, etc., the ones I didn't use any longer. Much to my embarrassment, many of them had never seen ink. So.....I have fewer uninked stamps now than I did before, but still too many for me to comfortably put our here for everyone to see

That is an interesting question, I really have no clue if I have stamps I have never used. The stamps I don't use now are packed in a box in the closet. And I would have to check through them to see what I have never used. I doubt if there are many that have never seen ink!! A couple of years ago I gave my DGD stamps that I was not fond of and I am sure they had not seen much if any ink.

Now days all the stamps that see the light of day (readily available in my craft studio) have seen and still see ink.

I am not sure when or if I will ever use the stamps currently boxed in my closet but I still hate the thought of getting rid/selling them. Maybe someday when I need the space to store something else. Then I will probably move them to the attic and purge the quilting supplies that take up that space now.

Only one set of PTI hasn't seen ink yet, and it was on my last order. It's a Christmas set so I don't feel bad. All my other image stamps in all sets and the single WM ones have been used on a project at least once.

That's what happens when you spend 2.5 years deliberately trying to use every one of your stamps.

Yes, I'm bragging! ;)

WOW! I didn't even count my christmas stamps. Because the majority I got after Christmas on sale and am planning on using them this year. I'm on a mission to use them all. I would love to say I've used all of my stamps at least once!

Way too many to admit to --but over the last 2 months I've been using some. What I did was to choose a theme - flowers was the first - and then a type of flower. I started with sunflowers, then daisies, and then onto silhouette type floral stamps and made several cards with each stamp, doing different types of stamping, i.e. embossing, markers, watercolors, etc. Then I decided if I liked the stamp enough to keep it or put it in "give away" box. One stamp I was sure I wasn't going to keep turned out so great when I embossed it that I decided it was a keeper. I didn't like it at all when I colored it with markers and stamped but embossed it looked so different. And I'm doing different techniques too so my project is 2 or 3 fold and I'm having fun!

What a great idea! I've had a similar experience, but it was totally by accident. I should do this process with my unused/unloved stamps... Thanks for the inspiration!

What??!! You haven't used them all?? Numerous times??

Yeah, we all have stamps we either aren't partial to in a set, or just haven't had the perfect purpose for yet. When I buy a set I need to know I will use at least 2/3 or 3/4 of them. I can't think of very many sets of which I have used all the stamps.

A couple of years ago some SCS friends and I decided to challenge ourselves us to using all of our sets before we bought anything (or much of anything) new. It was very inspiring and I made a ton of cards that year. I should maybe do that again...,

I order in volumes much larger than what I can possibly use...I would guess even with as many cards as I make more than 75% of my stamps are yet to be used...It may be higher....

Do i have un-used stamps...yes!
Do i feel guilty about it? No!!!

A couple of weeks ago i used some stamps for the first time that i had purchased nearly 2 years ago and hadn't touched. Right time, right project and the finished look is amazing (and i know it does 'cause someone on a scrapbooking design team told me so, feels good!!!) Don't stress about what you don't use now, you never know whe those uninked little images will become works or art later on down the track.

I go in waves -- sometimes new stamps are inked the day they arrive and other times they just pile up until I need them or I am struck by inspiration. Having to adhere to a strict crafting budget has made me much less of an impulse buyer and I tend to buy only what I'm pretty sure I will use. I'm sure for most of us it is a time thing; we all think we will get more stamping/scrapping done than we actual can or do in a day.

Please be seated and liquid free before reading this post:

I have approx. 350 SU sets (not including Christmas) and I would say that at least 75% of those sets have not been inked (most not even mounted).

I know, I know....that's a crime in itself.

I lost my mojo a while back but have still purchased sets and such. Hopefully it will return soon and I can enjoy the crafting again. But, it's kinda of hard for me to get the creative going when I'm sitting in the craft room by myself. I used to have people that crafted with me but they have either moved away, or lost interest in the crafting so....here it all sits.

It's funny how we are all so different! My best friend is more creative (and more interested in crafting) when she's part of a group bouncing ideas off of each other. I, on the other hand, go into "creative freeze" in a group. I'm so busy watching everyone else, chatting, etc., that I don't ever find my "groove". I prefer holing up in my "craft cave" and playing all by myself!

Maybe a Virtual Stamp Night (there's one coming up soon, I believe) would help. People chat online while doing the challenges, so there's some "community" there. Our LSS has classes and crops and such-like. Maybe one near you does, too, that would introduce you to some people that you could find common interest with and maybe have "play dates" with outside of the LSS. Just a couple of thoughts!

Yep, I have several stamps that I haven't used, but lately I've been trying to make a point to use some of them and if I can't figure out what I'm going to do with a stamp set I figure I might as well sell it. I started a sell pile a few weeks ago.

I have used all the sets I had bought. There are a lot that I haven't used more than a couple of times though. I really need to dig out the older stuff and use it. I have a lot of stamps that have been gifts from well meaning friends and family that sit. As a card maker I receive a lot of gifts of stamps and even more PAPER. The paper is my main "problem" as I have stacks and stacks of papers that I don't know what to do with..I feel "guilty" getting rid of a gift etc. I will be doing a stamp room and am thinking of gifting paper and stamps then... I have tried to be delicate and ask for no more paper and stamps, but I love that they are so supportive and think they are helping me....

I have the retired SU Christmas Collage large stamp that I plan to use finally this year-unless I come up with something different instead. Other than that it's just one or 2 stamps in a couple of sets that have never been inked. I'm pretty savvy now about knowing what I'll actually USE or just think is cute. Big difference!

Gee, I wish you live close to me, I would love someone to stamp with!

I don't believe I have any that haven't been inked at least once, but I have many that have ONLY been inked once!

I have some which are not used and many that are not well used. I feel that if I have used a stamp 4 to 6 times it has been a good purchase.
This is inspiring me to work on achieving a larger collection of good purchases.
