Why don't you try some of the challenges? Or if you've done them, maybe go back and try some again. I find the challenges really get me thinking Funny, but I find that I'm more creative when I'm just "plying around" as opposed to making a card for a specific person!
Go for a walk - maybe the fresh air will inspire you! You never know...
Cheers

What?! (shocked expression) ....um....yeah. I sure do! You most assuredly are not alone. I'm sure I have even seen my cutter slide a little toward me, an ink pad scoot over a little, catalogue pages blowing open randomly...all in hopes of capturing my attention. And I just sit there.
Yes- and when I get in a rut it helps me if I reorganize stuff. Then I find something I forgot and I had and makes me want to find a way to use it. You are not alone on being in a rut!!
I do that.. then before I go to bed, I try to "make" a card in my head.. usually, by the next day, it comes to me! I do better when I am making a card for pure fun, not because I have to!

Yep sitting here staring at all the stuff across the room thinking I better get busy making stuff for birthdays that will be here soon and Christmas and a craft fair in 2 months.

Been mostly starring at my newest SU! supplies and stamps I love for a couple months. Even when I drag my supplies to my best stampin' friend's house I just sit and watch her create. So I keep posting here and will sooner or later be the most posted no gallery person around SCS. Is there a prize for that? Part of it is that I am never satisfied with my results unless I am in a class or workshop. How many can I expect my demo to have, and how many can I afford to attend??? Actually if she offered one every week I would probably make the effort to attend 3 out of 4 of them - she prepares everything and all I have to do is copy her example. Even then I usually goof something up but it still looks ok. The challenges seem like the perfect "rut-stopper" to me and I have been looking at the new SU! catty for the catty case challenge but haven't picked a card to case yet. If you find a way out of the rut, please share.
I'm totally in a rut right now. Finished work two weeks ago and haven't created anything. I'm waiting until my friend gets back from holidays to go play with her new stuff. Maybe I'll get inspired to stamp or scrap (since I have 1 1/2 years worth of photos to do) once again. Good luck and I hope the bug bites us all.

Geez. I just did that today. Got out some stuff to make a summer name frame. I made a full season set last year for my mom at Christmas. I made a whole set for myself too, but didn't get around to making the Summer one for myself. So today, I dig out all the stuff and just stared at it. I didn't even have to *think* because I had already made one before. I kept tossing back and forth on creating a new one or just copying the old one. OH, maybe I could use different colors and use Pick-a-Petal....NO...I should just copy.....OOhh...maybe I could use the new InColors.....NO I should just copy. So, instead, I did nothing.
That is too funny..I'm not laughing at you, I'm laughing with you. I was in that same situation until all these nice ladies on SCS helped me out..Ck out the Challenge cards..even though I havent tried them yet..been busy quilting..I have tons of stuff too, and still find myself staring at all the money I spend on this stuff..

wait, at first I thought you were talking about me. I printed out 2 cards today to try for the featured stamper challenge, but I did nothing. I am just too lazy at times. Maybe tommorow
My solution for a stamping rut is to either call a stamping night with the girls or stamp images for Wish-RAK. It's not as creative, but sometimes just going through the motions without the pressure to be creative or make a full card helps. It also saves on cleanup time which can be a deterrent for me.
Right now I am reading posts about what you all do when you are in a rut, which is what I am in right now. Need to stamp for stamp club next week and my rottweiler is staring at me wanting to play:twisted:. Can't think of anything to make:confused:. I guess if I turned around and actually looked and the stuff maybe I could make something.
