I do not cut down any size until ready to use it. I make cards and scrapbook. I also use a Cricut Explore with an iPad and use scraps and full size sheets for projects. I belong to a card making club and never know what I am going to design. I often use scraps for embellishments and sentiments. I do not have a huge stash of scraps but file them in a file folder by color.
I never cut down card stock or pattern paper until I need it. I made all different sizes of cards. If I cut everything down, I might not have the right size paper to make the card I want.
I make 4x4 card up to 6x6 cards along with A4 cards. I have even made a 7 inch long card at times.
Cutting down my paper just will not work for me.
Some people only make A4 cards so this might work for them.
Well said. I'm exactly the same. When I don't have any scraps (which I use religiously) and I cut into a new sheet, I sometimes cut the remainder down to a 8.5x5.5 piece and whatever is leftover. But that's it and it's really only so it fits better in my scraps bag.
I never cut my card stock or patterned paper schnibbles as I die cut and sometimes I need an odd sized piece. I do have a selection of card stock that I did cut, now that I'm thinking! I have cut the two different sized Flash Cards by Connie Stewart from Simply Simple Stamping. I have a box of lots of colored bases and neutral layers to layer onto the main card. I love that because I can punch out things that go on the neutral piece.

I never cut up any of my papers before I need it for a project. I put card front sizes with the original paper in a hanging file. Anything smaller gets put in a 2 gall zipper bags &left unzipped) and hung in another hanging file sorted by color family - blues, greens, reds etc.
I can't ell you how many times I go to that scrap file for a snippet for a flower, backing, greeting. But I do limit how small I save pieces.
I rarely need 12 x 12 so I don't buy much of it. I got a ream of 14 x 17" orange light weight cardstock once on clearance at Xpedex (they no longer have storefronts)- and was going to cut it down, when a friend almost jumped down my throat for it. I have never needed anything longer than 12". I will have orange c.s. forever for Halloween...!
No, I don't usually cut my card stock for cards ahead of time.

I don't cut up my paper until I need it either. I use scraps for smaller die cuts, flourishes, etc. You never know when you may need that strip or accenting piece, and those a pieces sure have come in handy - guess that's why I'm such a paper hoarder!!!! They also work great when the grandkids are around to just make a collage!! Art is so much fun.......
I cut a lot of my white and colored c.s. to A2 size, and my DP into 6" squares. I discovered I NEVER looked at my 12" papers, so tried cutting them 8 1/2 x 11. That worked pretty well, but I found I was using my 4 x 6 or 6 x 6 pads most. 12 x12 DP now gets cut into 6" squares and "filed" by color right away. BINGO! Use the smalls so much more. I'm very lucky to have plenty of space to cut and store my papers.
