Would love to see more photos of decorated envelopes
Are there others who would share their envelope decorating ideas or have photos they could share?
Thanks.

I always decorate my envelopes! I just finished a pile of Christmas thank you cards with the Papertrey snowflakes stamped in black ink, the "froted over" with one of those glitter pens. So pretty!
Oohh...I am in the definite minority here! I never stamp my envelopes, they go bare butt into the mail. I think it makes for a nice "surprise" when the recipient opens it...there is no "hint" of what is to come on the card inside. That is the reason I never use clear envelopes for mailing!
Yup...I can't send out a handmade masterpiece with a blank envelope..I always stamp something..and I also like to use decorative scissors to cut the edge of the back flap..I use one that doesn't cut off too much of the envelope glue..the deckle is probably my favorite but also like a zig zag too. Oh and sometimes I even stamp with VersaMark ink right on the spot where you'd write out the address....something subtle..gives it that watermark look.
I was always told to never send a "naked" envelope!
Me too!!
At stamp camp (before I moved), we were always given envelopes to go with our cards. This way we could decorate the envelope at the same time as making the card. So when I dig through my card stash to send a last-minute card, the envelope is ready to go, too, and all I have to do is sign the card and address the envelope. I like to choose a small stamp from the set I used for the card and then stamp the bottom left corner and sometimes the flap.

I love to stamp my envies- sometimes I go all out and use pastels like here. But that was hand-delivered of course. I would take off the harmony stamp to put it in the mail.
Sometimes I cut a piece of the same dp I have used on the card to glue inside the flap and down the inside a bit. Hope this makes sense. If you use the same size envelopes most of the time just make a template.
I usually use the clear envelopes. I am currently participating in a decorated envelope swap and found I like decorated my envelopes too. Therefore, I will use regular envelopes from now on so I can decorate them to match my cards.
I got a RAK from Beate once, and she used a clear envy. She added a decorated piece of white CS for the address. She also stamped the liner in the card. It was an impressive presentation from a very talented stamper!

I don't decorate my envelopes, but that's probably because of the way that I personally open envelopes. I glance at the return address to see if it's new (if it's from someone that I know), and then that envelope is right into the trash before I even glance at the contents!
Actually, I do stamp on the envies, but not in a decorative way. I have a return address stamp (from paperangel.com) and I also use a little sentiment stamp on the flap that says "More fun than e-mail" (from rivercityrubberworks.com). I do a bunch of envies in advance, all with plain old boring black ink.
Thanks for sharing your idea of decorating with pastels!
Thanks for providing this link to your beautiful card and envelope! You have certainly inspired me to use pastels in this way.

I may be in the wrong thread, but I am looking for an example or a tutorial on decorating address labels for my Christmas cards. I print them on Avery labels and would like some ideas for decorating the labels before printing. I have always decorated the address labels with a small stamped image that cordinates with the card, but that is time consuming. Decorating the labels before printing sounds better.
Absolutely, I usually do a little stamping and then address the envelope using the coordinating marker. I love to have everything matching. It's a great finishing touch.

Any ideas???
I don't remember seeing anything on doing this, but could you use a background stamp in a real pale coordinating color or stamped off so the printing was still readable? You would be able to stamps a whole sheet of labels very quickly this way.
I was directed very explicitly NOT to put anything on the envelope but the addresses and the stamp when sending mail to my stepson in boot camp. So he gets plain envelopes. But matching envelopes are Da Bomb!

I always print my labels, then run a coordinating wheel up the page. Gets everything quickly. I tend to do snowflake cards, so I will run a snowflake roller and cover the whole page (covering the whole label) with a light blue snowflake design. Then I will line up my envies so only the left inch of the envelope is exposed, and run the same roller over all of those.
Go check out my gallery... I almost always coordinate my envies with my card.

I decorate mine & I also line them on the inside with matching/coordinating cardstock or designer paper. Looks pretty, & it adds a bit of thickness to the sometimes flimsy envelope.
Yes, I always decorate my envelopes. Usually, it's just a little design from the set I used on the card. But, sometimes, I get very elaborate and use a larger design or sentiment. I also try to use address the envelope with a marker that matches one of the papers I used.
I'm no longer a demonstrator but when I was, the one piece of advise that my upline gave me was to stamp EVERYTHING that you put in your mailbox. That included envelopes on bills. You never know who is going to see that envelope!!

Thanks for all the ideas. I really like the one suggesting a background stamp over a whole page of labels. I also like the roller wheel idea. All of a sudden I have several ideas spinning around in my head and that could be very dangerous. LOL
Did anyone stamp their Christmas Card envies or return address labelsif they sent bought Christmas cards? I know, I know, I'm lame!!! Just didn't have the time!!!

I always, always decorate the outside of the envelope. Occasionally I will punch thru it and place coordinating paper behind the image. Most often, I just stamp something coordinating on the front.
I always use a coordinating stamped image on the envelope. BTW, thanks again for the ideas on decorating the address and return address labels. They also cordinated with the envelope decoration. Received lots of comments.
I LOVE to make matching envelopes for my cards!! Here is a card from my gallery with a matching envie - I really like the way it turned out!! It's not too fancy or flamboyant, but I like it just the same!!

I used to stamp on the envie, and sometimes I still do, but I got a bit bored with that so now I find a simple stripe of the DP or running the flap through the cuttlebug gives the whole thing a finished coordinated feel:
