Hi. Can someone explain to me why a card I uploaded (I uploaded two views) on Thursday has disappeared - though one view is still there ??? I again uploaded the first view on Monday (your Sunday) and it has again disappeared - I guess it was a no-Sunday uploading, so can understand that.
This has happened to me before and I don't know what the problem is. Also annoying is that the few comments I got on the card also disappeared.
Have you checked that your filename for the project is unique? The #1 reason cards go missing is that they have the same filename as an already existing project here. You know how your camera does its own thing naming the pictures (ie, MD00042)? Everybody else's cameras name the same way. So when you download your picture to your computer you need to change the picture name to something specific to you. For example, most of mine that I intend to upload to SCS are named "MSBTatteredRoseResist" or something...putting my user name initials in front of the card name. I hope that makes sense...it's not the name you give it when you upload the card here to SCS that needs to be unique, but the name you give it when you save it to your computer.
This used to happen to me ALL the time and I got SOO frustrated!!! I learned that you have to use a unique name when you upload a picture (e.g. qpwifnekgl) I don't know how it all works in the system, but I haven't lost a card upload since I started using unique names!!! Just as long as the names are unique to your gallery, they will be fine. HTH!!!

Thanks so much, finally I am clear. Have just tried it out, so hopefully.....
I always put my user name in file name because no one will have the same user name as you do. Then if I'm doing a challenge I'll put that in as well, that way I don't have to worry about losing any of my uploads. If you have any uploads that are have the same name the one of them will disappear. HTH
Thanks for the info. I had a card "disappear" also. I haven't had this happen before or since, so I figured gremlins. ;) Good to know about the naming thing.
