Cool Dh said it it is a good start

Even after being up all New Years eve, I was on call for my ER I work at, getting three hours sleep before my Saturday Scrapping group luncheon, dinner and movies with dh, I still kept to my 2011 resolution to get my scrap/stamp/sewing room cleaned up, especially after the holiday projects. I worked for five hours, and I got a 55 gallon trash bag pretty full.

Dh said " it's a good start"

Happy New Year to all

Way to go! Just the fact that you didn't cave in and put it off now is mentally a big boost in sticking with your resolution. Great start.

I did the same thing to mine, and it feels great, doesn't it? I've got lots left (mainly sewing some horse blanket repairs that will get rid of A LOT of stuff) but it's a great start.

Good for you! My husband bought me new cupboards and a counter top for my stamping room and I am trying to clean it out to fit them in. Made me realize just how much "stuff" I have. Now I feel like being creative and everything is in boxes..... can't win. But it will be lovely when it's finished!

I saved the crumpled pieces of cardstock, and a few things the classrooms could use. Mostly my trash was empty boxes, old tattered magazines, patterns from when my daughter was in elementary school. It is so nice now, you can see the floor. And I found stuff I had bought, stashed away, and forgot about. I got Christmas buttons to last me a couple of seasons. I then started on the kitchen, it's been a busy day.

And the Cowboy's won.

Talking Surprise help from DH!!!

DH put up shelf in my rm @ T-giving time. The mess had grown out of my corner to the middle of the floor:.I still had 2 boxes of mag's on the floor a friend had given me. He tracked down c/board. mag holders for me @ Office Depot. I got them for C-mas. 6 of them are on top of my file cabinet.(been working on scrap booking family photo's.) The boxes are off the floor.
NY week I told him no big meals so I have the energy to work in my room, I can't start anymore new projects until I straighten up my room!!!
He got another set of shelves to put in my closet. I have been working in there for over a year finding a home for other crafts I can no longer do. stuff was resting on top of other big boxes. Now I can move my wooden stamp collections in plastic boxes etc so I can get to them easier. They outgrew my drawers. 1 set of my drawers it was tipping. He took the wheels off the bottom 1 & put it on the top. Now the top set has the wheels on the bottom. Had to rearrange my drawers. I need to sort thru some paper items better in smaller drawers.
Next step is to sort thru a big batch of paper scraps a friend gave me. 1st I got to go from flat to vertical storage. Need to sort thru items I don't want in accordian file folders. this will take time. These have set on the floor for 2 mo's while I made C-mas cards for 2 mo's.
Got some small jars of jam for C-mas. I think they would make cute jars to separate my brads into color families.
DH confessed why he offered to help. He said clutter bugs him. He finally put shelves up in his office. I asked him for his long term problem solving for my closet. ( which he is good @!!) He really hasn't take much interest in what I do in there much less offer to buy me stuff. He now realizes my card making does save my sanity. (I'm housebound w/ health problems).
He went into M's for me Thur. to get me 3 items. I was to tired from a Dr's appt. No craft places where we live.He did so w/o complaining. We had a really bad storm w/ high winds, cold front, sand & snow. He braved all of that for me.
I have to make my GD a late b-day card. I told her I can't make her b-day gift till G-ma cleans up her messy room!! i don't want to drag out my shell collection till I have stuff picked up & sorted.
Want to make a new ribbon box from a candy box we're eating up to go on top of my drawers for a bag of ribbon to go in.
NOW he decides he wants to look for a different job out of state!!@ least I have been sorting thru stuff & sending it out the door. My vintage p/c collection goes in the mail. Also some more GI cards will go out of my stash.
I making good on my promise even if it's on snail pace!!

WTG! I am trying to imagine that garbage bag, lol.

I am working on my craft room now. I have OCD & it's organized I feel like messing up something. My cats already managed that several times today so I guess I don't need any help, lol. I don't have any clutter since I am neurotic about it, lol. I honestly feel bored. If any of you need help I am around.

I donated alot of my "uncool" paper to a local daycare center. I also gave them a lot of my stickers. Years ago I was a Creative Memories Demo and had stickers coming out of my ears. Since I'm past the sticker craze/faze I decided to give the daycare all of those. They are very appreciative in receiving donations.

I still have lots to do. I have maxed out on my vacation hours, so I "have" to take two days off this week. I will hit the grandsons bedroom first, then dh's bathroom. I made sure I have plenty of garbage bags, it just feels good to clean this house out, get rid of accumulation.

55 gallons of trash? Makes me feel better! LOL My room is seldom clean, but occasionally I clean off my table and my desk. Usually when it gets so bad I can't find what I need. Glad to know there are others out there like me!
