Last night I was stamping, creating a card for Stamp Camp. I was using Kraft cardstock with red, green, and white Craft inks. I’m making the sentiment medallion and don’t quite like how it’s turning out…but can’t figure out why. So I turn to DH, who’s surfing the web in my craft room, which happens a lot on the weekends. He’s actually pretty good at this. So he starts with what about a red background, green stamping…”. He goes through about 3 different iterations. Finally here’s where it ends:
DH: OH! Try a white background. That’s what it needs. (turns back around to the computer, he’s solved this problem)
Me: (thinking that US White won’t look great with Kraft cs) Mmmm, I don’t know, it will be really bright. Let me show you…
DH: (still looking at the computer) Use Shimmery White. It’s not as bright.
Dead silence as I stare at DH as if he had two heads.
DH: (turns around) What? I listen to you. The shimmery isn’t as bright as the regular white.
Kid you not, ladies. The man knew that shimmery isn’t as bright a white as the Ultra Smooth White. I was floored. Apparently he does listen while I putter at my craft desk. Now he has now excuses for leaving his socks next to the recliner. He can’t say he didn’t hear me ask him to put them away. He absorbed the differences between shimmery and us white apparently through osmosis. There are no more excuses!
Oh, and he was right. The Shimmery White worked beautifully and was just what the card needed.

What??!?!!? Mine would never ever know one color from another much less the actual name of anything. His only comment has been "It needs more monkeys." He likes monkeys. (If I may quote from Debra Barone in Everybody Loves Raymond)--idiot.
What a funny story. Sounds like a great husband. Mine isn't too bad either. The other day I was feeling a little stressed and out of the blue he said, I think you should go stamp something.
No, ladies, he isn't rent-able or for trade. And he is indeed a keeper--for many reasons! He does have a brother...but I doubt you'd get the same results with the brother! I told him all the girls at SCS would get a kick out of this.
