Default Define a Cased card for me

The other case thread has me wondering, what exactly makes a cased card a cased card? I get that if the LO is the same, it's a cased card, but what about using the same color combination, using the same stamping technique with the same stamp set, etc.. Where do you draw the line and call your card cased?

I really only say I cased it if it's really the same. Maybe substitutions or something but basicly the same.

if I'm inspired by the card that's totally different. So I try to keep track of that too, people like to know that as well. But "inspired" to me means; element placement, color combo, a super cool way they added shadow on the stamped image, anything like that.

So basicly when I'm using the whole thing, or very close to the whole thing, like maybe less than three changes I'd call it CASED. Otherwise I say I'm inspired by the original.

Of course we are always inpsired by stuff all the time. So I don't always know who inspired what element I'm using, but if I DO know I try to credit.

don't loose sleep over this I'd say. I think you know if you are copying someone then you really need to give credit, the rest is on a curve really. It's nice, but as you add more and more of your own design choices to the piece it becomes yours.

I thought it meant if you pratically copied it. I see some people say they cased so and so's card and I look at it and it looks NOTHING alike! To me thats inspired not cased!

I think that if you have changed four or more things it is NOT a case but an inspiration. If it is three or less, definately counts as a case and the person should be given credit. There are times though when I know I have seen a card and didn't favorite it or it was in a mag, and could give credit to the person. In that situation I put that it was not my original idea and can't remember who it belonged to. I feel like if I do that then I am in some way giving credit to that person.
