My husband has agreed to jury-rigging an AC box out the window of our space for me (its upstairs above a detached garage)
(now I just need to get to the store and get one before they sell out they are predicting triple digits here again for the rest of this week)
Ugh! The heat would melt your adhesives! Come hang out here. It's just the upper 80's this week.

ok...so...we have a guest in our craft room. Also...I am now working full time (yikes) and I've had some health issues. The last two years I was able to just barely get all the challenges done. I'm determined not to let all that get in my way...and I'm starting off with a clean table. I have no intentions of creating anything until the challenges start (otherwise the table will be a mess lol) Can't wait to catch up on chatting and creating...so looking forward to this years challenges.
The only reason I'm putting up extra tables is because I'm also fiddling with the theme cards, getting ready for dtgd and vsn, and the regular challenges, and I don't want to have to keep putting stuff away. Plus, 5 quilts. Good thing I'm retired!

They're memory quilts for my niece and her four granddaughters. Her mom (my sister) passed last March, and I'm piecing quilts using scraps from some of her shirts as well as fabric from my stash and novelty prints for things my sis loved-- bingo, dice, pets, etc. It's a simple pattern. The goal is to have them finished for Christmas.

Thanks. It's bittersweet, true, and there's a finished project (or five!) at the end of this form of grieving. My sister was a lot of fun, and choosing fabrics in her memory was a joy.

Brenda, I think that's a wonderful gift to your niece and her children. My younger sister made us matching sweatshirts covered in buttons from our grandmothers button box. It was the sweetest gift - even more so now that my sister has passed.
I'm excited about this upcoming challenge. I've never played. Teddy's birthday is Friday, July 26th (1 year old already). Next week his maternal grandparents will be here and the celebration begins. I'm now on "summer break" and hope I'll be able to at least play in a few of the challenges. I've been busy this week. I played in the metal foil challenge and then created a project to go along with it. It was tons of fun!
I was given permission from my husband to take comp time during the day and unpaid vacation in the evenings...I'm looking forward to my first DTGD activity!
Meals have been planned...calendar mostly cleared...
Is there a start time? I wouldn't want to be late for my first party!

It's so good to see you here! The challenges for each day (there are usually 5-7) are posted in the morning *sometime* around 8 or 9-ish.
I have GOT to get my stamping space in order before next weekend!! I think that will have to go to the top of the list for the beginning of the week. That and planning meals and such. I couldn't even think about it this last week while it was so hot here. It was 87 inside the house yesterday and I'm pretty sure it was raining inside, it was so humid!! ;) It's cooled off this morning. YAY!
Ok ladies who ave been here done that....
Ive stamped images to color this week.
I'm fearful I might be low on card stock, so ordering today.
Will cut card bases this week.
Dd is out of town, dh will feed me.
Ill do an extra day of exercise this week to increase my stamina.
Brenda...LOVE those quilts! That's one of my favorite ideas for a scrappy quilt...and I have plenty of raw materials, believe me!
Thanks! Today's supposed to be a mad piecing day, since next week I'll be spending more time stamping than sewing. Hopefully. Totally understand about the abundance of raw materials!

well... if you do your card bases from dark colored cardstock, and your doing all your cards say A-2 because, that seems pretty standard, you could cut some smooth white or cream pieces a little smaller to line the insides for you to write notes on later when you give them away? ( may make it assembly line faster to have the insides kinda done?)
I make cards faster playing music I can sing along to on auto pilot so, what about making up a new itunes playlist or digging out a stack of CD's you enjoy?
Cut card bases and colored images.....chocolate.....music.....updated version of Skype.......I'm sooooooooo ready!!!!!
Wait......STOP!!!!!! Hold the presses!!!!!!!!!!!! I need paint! I forgot paint! I neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed paint!!!!!!!!!! Oh noes!!!!!!!! Oh yeah...I have a few days....ok...nevermind.....as you were....back to your regularly scheduled prep chatter!
Lol, I wish I had those MFT dies to cut the perfect layers for A2 cards. They are on my wish list but won't be here for DTGD that's for sure.
Skype? It's all updated on my iPad, would be thrilled if someone cyber scrapped with me! momofash is my username. Although I told my dh it was a pj week and I may not shower, and be prepared not to talk to me for the week. Not that he will want to be that close after not showering anyway........
Today I'm focusing on rearranging my stamp room! Yep...someone is coming to stamp this Wed.- Fri...even spending the nights...
Lots of stamping will be happening...
Well...I just needed to find the stamping table and in all that process there is now a little mini-decluttering happening!
She'll bring her stamps and cardstock but use my toys...and my embellishments....she really doesn't know what she is getting herself into by coming to "make cards"...she's so innocent and naive!
Back to trimming 6 x 6 dp into 5 1/4" x 6 so it fits in the storage container! All in prep for Saturday...
