Default Cutting up 12 x 12?

I have been toying with the idea of cutting all my 12 x 12 paper packs (mostly Stampin" Up) into 6 x 6 pieces. Has anyone had experience with this? Did you regret it or were you glad you did it?

One thing I'm concerned about is that I have all my paper now still stored in the plastic packs in one section of my Ikea Kallax unit. Any ideas for making that work with a 6 x 6 format? One of the reasons I'm thinking of doing it is that right now all my paper tends to flop to one side as I flip through looking for the pack I'm after.

About a month ago I cut about 1/2 of my 12x12 pattern paper down to 6x6.

As I was cutting all my paper, I realized I have the envelope maker, so I stopped cutting.

I am very happy with the progress I made cutting my paper, I just put the 6x6 pieces by theme, or color(su paper) in a basket. The rest I bought the 12x12 paper keepers from Michaels.

I do not regret cutting my papers at all!!

I make other stuff from paper besides cards, like covered composition books, boxes, envelopes etc. so I never cut my paper down until I'm ready to use it.

Never cut down my papers, I have too much (of both sizes) to have it flopping over to the side in any storage container I use. Turning from a stamper back to a scrapper I hardly ever look at my 6x6...... mostly because I forget I have it!!!

Guess you are strictly A-2 card makers. I wouldn't dream of cutting down my 12 x 12 because most cards I make are 5 x 7.

I don't cut mine down because I still scrap at 12x12. But I also buy all the small paper pad sizes to to make mini albums & cards. I love the patterned mat stacks (4.5 x 6.5 or 5.5 x 7.5) for card making. The patterns are perfectly proportioned for the A2 cards.

Thanks, all! I think I'll hold off a bit. Once I started looking closer, many of my papers don't work well on cards because the patterns are a little too large for card making.

Good thing I'm a crafting procrastinator so I can have it both ways! LOL!

I don't cut mine down because I use them for other projects also. Storing them is a problem though.

I don't it down until I'm ready to use it because I also make a lot of journals, boxes, etc. I store my scraps in the white cube drawers by color and I've made dividers for the drawers so I can easily find scraps by sizes. My dividers let me store: 6 x 12, 6x6, and one section that is 6x6 but I put scraps that are less than 6x6.

I really use up a lot of my scraps and 6x6 papers because I can find them easily and clean-up is much easier. If a piece is bigger than 6x12 it goes back into the 12x12 racks.

I don't scrapbook, so if I end up with 12x12 I always cut them down. Before I even put them away! :-)

I keep them at 12 x 12. Once they are less than 1/2 that size they go into my one scrap box.
