I saw on someone's fab blog where she made a card by cutting out the bird 7 times. I couldn't tell from the bird in the picture, but it was popped up on dimensionals. So what would you do with the other 6 birds? Do you color them and stick them all together so you have a very fat little bird? I'm confused. I may have to try to find out where I saw this and PM her.
Well, I got my answer....it was by Markies Mom and she cut out a bird 7 times. She colored the first bird. Then she takes the second one and takes one a piece of that bird and attaches it to the other one with a dimensional. Then the next bird with even more cut out and that is put on with dimensionals. And so on. She says the bird has a very layered look to it (I believe it with 7 pieces of bird!). I might have to try this. Reminds me of paper tolle (spelling?)
Okay...I think I got that mixed up....I believe she said she takes the 2nd bird and cuts out 1 piece from that bird and attaches. Then the 2nd bird, she cuts out a bit more of the bird. And attaches. And keeps on going until she has 6 partial birds all lined up on dimensionals behind the first bird. I think I need a tutorial in this. I can't get a good visual on it. I'm such a visual learner.
I stamped the bird 7 times on various papers. I then first cut the entire body. Next all buy 1 section. Next all but one less, and so on. This is not very difficult, as long as the pieces are assembled as you go.The bird is really thick with layers, with dimensionals between every layer!
OKAY!!!!!!!!! This is what she said in her PM. Sheesh. I still didn't get it right. Anways, if you haven't seen her gallery, take a peek. Every single card is top notch. And her blog is very nice too.
In the UK we call this decoupage, and it is extremely popular, I do quite a bit of decoupage it is very relaxing and you can do it sitting in front of your fav tv programmes as well, its great, so you can watch tv and craft at the same time, lol
In the UK we tend to have decoupage sheets where the pictures are all on the sheet and you just cut out each layer etc and mount it up on top of each other with 3d pads or silicon gel (silicon can get very messy!!! lol) I personally prefer 3d pads.
Okay, I simply can't understand. Does someone have a link to a picture. You can tell me all day long how to do this, and my brain just won't get it. I need to see it! LOL!

WOW! Faith's cards are beautiful works of art! But you DEFINITELY couldn't mail one in an envelope! They would have to be bubble wrapped and put in a really large envie because they are so THICK with layers and stuff! How neat, and what an eye she has!
