First let me say this in NOT a plug for me...I didn't make this card!! But, it has to be one of the neatest shaker cards I have ever seen and so if you:
That is cute...and what a great way to use up beads. My 10 year old still hasn't caught the beading bug and so I have way too many on hand.
Let me also tell you, cmayk, I lost alot of sleep last night thinking about your gold pearlex print pattern card in your blog!! That and it was too hot here in the DC area for December!! But I think it was mainly your card. I should have just gotten up and made one. tee hee...
These are both very cute! I made a shaker card for my nephew's b-day but had to mail it w/o taking a photo; he's 8 today! I found little bags of shaker 'filler' for $1 at Michael's the other night; they were in a bin in one of the center aisles; one is red and green w/little Christmas trees and one is blue and white with snowflakes; they also had one with gold that would be good for New Years cards!

Ok this is sooo crazy but I have to make a shaker card for Inky Antics this weekend!!! How funny that you would post this thread and then I find out I have to do one!!! LOL
Both of those are really great. So much detail. These days, I tend to do stuff that doesn't take more than a few minutes, cuz I just don't have the time. Anyway, this is the shaker card I made for my son's birthday in September. Very simple, I know, but it still shakes!
That's a neat idea too, Eileen. I have a baggie for goldfish that would be neat to have some in shrinky dink fish floating around...But, as much as I admire them, I too haven't really made them. I always worry that the edges won't stay shut! I may give it a whirl.
I can't wait to see Jovi and Keri's creations...you know they will be fantastic!!
The Glossy Accents is still a bit tacky and when I was taking the picture the darn card kept falling over, I thought I ruined it! It’s been so long since I’ve made a card using my Hedgehogs and even longer making a Shaker!
Oh my word Jovi!!! That is ADORABLE!!!!!!! I absolutely love that you cut it all out part of the image to make it the shaker part!!! SOOO CUTE CUTE CUTE!
Oh my gosh! These are hard to make...it is my first shaker card, I'll admit it! I've always admired them but have been to chicken (lazy?!?) to make them.
It took me two tries to get the shaker part put together...first I used too much glue and it got all over the plastic. Then I stuck it together too quickly so the inside shakey stuff got stuck...finally...this. I know it's simple but be kind!!
okay, please excuse me if i make any mistakes in communicating...i'm new to this site. i've looked and been amazed at all the talent, but have never talked to anyone through the site. I one silly question...after looking around, i've failed to find a tuturiol on how to make a shaker card. could anyone guide me to an instructional? thanks so much
go to the top of the page where it says resources, click on it then go to where it says projects, clicl on that and then scroll down to find the shaker projects.it says what you need to make them and there should be a how to also.

Actually, for some reason its not listed in the Resource area, but you can find the directions by going to Technique Spotlight in the gallery and then youll be able to link to the Resource from there.
All of these shaker cards are great! I've been wanting to make one for ages but haven't gotten around to it. Maybe this is just the inspiration I needed!
I just wanted to say all of your shaker cards are great! I have never made a shaker card, only a shaker stingray for a scrapbook page once. I think I will have to give it a try some time AFTER Christmas!
me thinkest I need to make me a shaker card... no foam tape though - although I think I might have a shaker card kit somewhere....
Is there anything else I can use?
