Question Crystal Lauquer

Hi,

I saw a technique on another website using crystal laquer to make stain glass book marks. After stamping on acetate sheets with a dry-based ink, you color it in with the crystal laquer. I thought the lauquer was clear. Does it come in colors too? I also thought that lauquer goes over something that is colored by either embossing pens, watercolor crayons or chalks to make it shiny. Does anyone know what I am talking about?

Default Crystal Laquer Colors

I have some Crystal Laquer that is colored so it probably depends on what you are seeing. It's quite easy to use as clear though because then it takes on the color of whatever it is on top of.

Crystal Lacquer comes in a liquid bottle form with a cap that will let you squeeze it out with precision. You can get it in different colors, though clear is definately the most versatile (I have colors but don't use them) When the clear dries, you then put the colors on top, but like I said, haven't tried that. Lacquer spray is what you spray pictures, chalks, etc. with, totally different product. Highly recommend C.Laquer tho---it also doubles as a wonderful adhesive that holds like super glue!HTH

Thanks abunch for your input on my Crystal Lacquer inquiry. Now that I know it comes in colors too, I guess it can be used either way. The technique did not say anything about coloring anything. It just said to apply the crystal lacquer to the stamped acetate after it dried. It is good to know that there is more than one way of doing things. Thanks again.
