Default Crystal Effects

I have a problem with the crystal effects making the colors bleed. How long do I need to let colored images (markers or ink pads) dry before adding crystal effects.

Thanks,
Sharon

Are you using Craft ink or Classic Ink?

I haven't had this problem. I try to use as little movement as possible to push the CE around where I need it. You can also use a paint brush. One tip I can share is to keep from picking up the tip of the CE and placing it down again. This creates air bubbles which are a pain to get rid of.....

If you are using Craft Ink, you might try heat-setting it first. Classic Ink I usually let it dry for awhile (15-20 min) before I try using CE. Good luck!

What helps for me is to put a very thin layer of CE on at first to seal the image. Then if I want a thicker coating of CE on the piece, I add more after the first coating has dried. This way the ink for the image is wet for as short an amount of time as possible to keep it from bleeding.

Default Small coating

Janz that's a good idea I'm going to have to try that. I've been making bottlecaps with an image on the bottom that I color in with sharpies. I then use glitter around the edge and then put a product that is the equavalent to crystal effects. They've been bleeding a little bit. I never thought of just a layer so that the bleeding would be minimal.
