Default A crop

I want to do a crop (I think that's what you call them??). I just want to be able to have a place for my friends and family to get together and scrapbook and not have to worry about anything else...that's a crop right? At crops do you normally do games or do you just let people do their own thing?

I also wanted to send out flyers but have no idea where to start with that! So if anyone has a flyer made up or any ideas that I could do that would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!

Yup, that would be a crop! Or you could call it a craft night so people could come and do something other than scrapbook, like sew or quilt or make cards, etc. Or maybe they could just come over to sort pictures, drink some wine, and chat!

The crops I have attended have sometimes had a theme (like the Oscars, PJ Party, etc) and sometimes have games associated with them, sometimes not. You might google games for crops or games for scrapbooking and see what you can find. I think if you open it up to any craft, I would omit the game, unless you just want to have a door prize.

You could always use evite instead of a flyer. They have neat premade templates and it takes care of the reminders and rsvps for you.

Have fun!!

When I have attended a crop, I wanted to work and only work and was not interested in games. I was interested in uninterrupted work/inspriation time (well, except for food breaks)

I organize a monthly-ish crop night at my church. We don't do any games and I do call it a craft night so more than just scrapbookers feel welcome to come and work on their hobbies or projects. We all take a snack to share with everyone else so there is lots of yummy things to munch on and we also order pizza all together. I just announce it in our church bulletin and then by word of mouth to others.... you could also do a mass email or something to get the word out and attach the flyer to your email? Have fun! I love our craft night and like the above poster said... uninterupted time to scrap with others that share my hobby is the best part of it for me!

I agree with no games. Crops, for some, is their only time to have uninterupted scrap/stamp time. As long as they have space ( I have 2 to an 8 foot table ), at least 8 hrs, and a few refreshments, your guests will be happy.

I'd say no games either. You'll do more takling than cropping anyways. Its a social event first, craft event second.

I have "crops" 2 times a month with members of my church. We all just bring our own stuff and we visit while scrappin'. I wouldn't do any games because that would seem too organized. Are you a demonstrator? If you are just doing it for fun then I would figure out the cost of food and for the place you will be renting.

Good luck with it!
