Default Cricut or Big Shot cover help!

I want to make covers for my Expression and my Big Shot. I have found a pattern for the Expression, still can't find a pattern for the Big Shot. I have seen samples of the fitted ones and the more boxy ones and like the fitted ones better. So, questions are, 1) Does anyone have a pattern for a Big Shot cover and 2) If you have made any kind of covers, do you use regular cotton fabric or quilted fabric?
Thanks!

thanks for asking this.. I too want dust covers for My cricuts and big shot.. I like the fitted cover best for the big shot. I even have a pretty quilted Hawaiian print set aside.. if not I'de like to get either a pink zebra or zebra&pink combo or leopard print. prefer quilted.. let me know how this goes please .

It shouldn't be too hard to draft your own pattern. Lay your BS on its side on a piece of paper and trace around the outline. Add a bit more for ease and seam allowance. The middle piece is just a long rectangle. You can make the handle hole and slit out of one piece and run seam binding around it. In the 1st example I linked to below, it looks like she did a satin stitch around the hole and did a fabric self binding on the slit. IMHO seam binding is easier.

You could use velcro to close it (see second link - you have to scroll down to see it).

For the middle piece, you can give yourself wiggle room by cutting your rectangle extra length and marking the middle, Match the centers of the side pieces to the middle of the rectangle and pin it together. Slip it inside out over your BS to make any adjustments. Sew and trim the excess fabric from the end pieces, leaving a hem allowance. Or trim it exactly and use a fabric strip or seam binding, if you are more ambitious.

I would use pre - quilted fabric. I just made a cover for my Zing e-cutter from some and I think it gives a bit of extra protection from both dust and dings. Plus it has more body so it holds it shape better than just plain fabric.

BTW - I had never thought about a cover for my BS and now I'm inspired. Thanks!

awww.. Mahalo much... want to hear something funny? I actually did tilt my big shot and trace it at a attempt to make me a pattern... but I have broken like many sewing machines making baby futons. I even have a nice pre quilted fabric I wouldn't mind having it made into covers... then I want it so nicely made im not sure I want to do it myself... and after talking to a friend she told me she quilts her own fabric.. soooo now talk about inspired.. lol now I want her to make it for me because then she can turn my fav reg fabric into a padded quilt ... nothing wrong with having 2 of each is there? then I was thinking maybe it be best to do it reversible? @ first I wanted zebra and pink or pink zebra... then when she said she quilts her own I was like omg I got my fav cheetah print...

Karjor dear.. let me know how yours come out
