If Carol Duvall is still alive she must just love sock monkey! She always had something for the sock monkey so when I see it it reminds me of her show. KWIM?
Some one commented that twigster looked like it was drawn by a child. Have you seen Zoofari? It's an older stamp that I have never been into. If I wanted a stamp set that looked like a child's drawing I would get my kids to draw it for me. I like the obviously childish stick people like All In The Family but not the animals in Zoofari.

it empties today of its strength.
The one set I think is wierd/creepy is On the Fly. I dont like faceless people.
Whoa... yes!! On the Fly!! Totally creepy faceless guy. I even have Holy Triptych and although I really thought it was beautiful last year ~ when I look at it now I think, "Yucky faceless people."
And speaking of childishly drawn SU sets ... Putt-Putt. I guess because it would most likely be used for children's cards, the juvenile "artistry" is more excusable... but ~ still U-G-L-Y.
And about those reindeer in Holiday Lineup: I thought they were all just looking at Rudolph's nose?! Are you all tellin' me that when his nose lights up, he has gas?! LOL!! I just better not let my daughter "get wind" of this (*groan*) or I don't know just how she'll sing that song this year!! Or was it the elves that are gassy? I like the snowmen, could do somethin' with the reindeer for weirder friends and family, but the elves? They can go be friends with Mr. Twigster.

My impression exactly, all he needs is a long trench coat

You ladies are a riot. You make me look at some of these stamps in a whole new light. I haven't purchased any of the stamps, but you all present some interesting comments.
I agree that the fisherman is really strange with no face. Also looks as if a child drew it with a dull pencil. No true lines to use to color the graphic.
I've seen the reindeer graphic (or very similar) on cards in stores and they are kinda cute.
I think Twigster is cute - don't see the creepiness at all. Sock monkeys aren't creepy to me either, I just don't get them. Why are they such a beloved, classic toy?
DH has a monkey phobia - his grandparents had one in a tiny cage when he was a kid; it was mean and probably insane. I showed him Sock Monkey and it gave him the heebie jeebies.

Yup! I thought of her the first time I saw it too.
I too think Twigster is creepy and I can finally articulate why:
He looks like he is wearing a top and winter boots, but pants.
Like some nutty guy who wanders around the neighborhood in his robe and winter boots with just an undershirt and boxer shorts on, mumbling and giving dirty looks to everyone. :p
I love the Twigster. I love Sock Monkey. And I LOVE the Holiday Lineup people!! I cracked up the first time I saw it!! I usually do a religious card at Christmastime, but the look on their faces...that's what I usually look like at the end of the Christmas season! Like I'm ready for the looney bin! If I could make just one person laugh by sending out those cards, it would be worth it!
Mr. Twigster is strange, but don't start me on sock Monkeys (creepy beyond words) - I may not get to sleep tonight (almost as terrifying as clowns)!
hey ive had nightmares about DSP covered sock monkeys chasing me off a cliff, i kidd you not. I think twigster would be cute if he didnt have legs and had 3 snow layers

Snowbutt, never heard of that and I live in Minnesota, but ya sure you betcha he can,t live up to Frosty the Snowman's physique. I agree with prchys that the Twigster is cute. He is very unique and I'll that you very much not to trash talk the Twigster about behind is back!
Not meaning to offend the artist, but these Twigsters look like something a 6 year old draws. I don't really find them creepy, just not my style... I prefer to stamp slightly more sophisticated images, like Pink Cat Studio stuff and even Fluffles.. These cute little guys from Stampendous are more my speed:
I don't know if I would use the word creepy to describe Mr. Twigster. Idiotic and juvenile, maybe. :p Honestly, did they hire a 4 year old to draw him? Doesn't that violate some kind of child labor law?
I just read this and it made me laugh totally out loud!!! I rarely do that while reading forums!!! Thank you so much for your honesty (and saying what I was feeling, but couldn't get into words!)...
