Question Crafting Time - -where is it???

I have a hard time getting in my craftroom because there is just always something else to do. House and husband take alot of time. Seems like if I go to a crop I will have that block of time, but I would rather stay home and crop. I've tried picking a night just for "scrapping" but there seems to always be something else that comes up..... How do the rest of you handle this time problem? Do you stay up most of the night when all are in bed or do you have a certain night just for you???

I'm the same way, I have a hard time getting into the craftroom. All day I look forward to getting in there after supper, but by the time I get supper, clean up the dishes and mess, get Maddie her bath etc etc etc, I am wiped and want to get in bed so I'm not paying for it the next morning. So for me Friday nights and Saturday nights I sometimes force myself to stay up late so I can get some of 'the room' in. :???:

I can usually only get in my craft room on weekends. I schedule the time just like I would a doctor's appointment. If the laundry needs to be done, oh well. I decided I was a happier person when I get "my-time." I have also started to work from a schedule similar to what flylady has. I have certain days I do certain chores so I don't spend my entire weekend trying to get the house clean and the grocery shopping done. I don't have children, but I do have a DH that can be just as bad.

I set aside time every day during nap where I get to stamp. I make myself do it. Some weeks the time will slip away and before you know it, I haven't touched my stamps in a week! I do it because it is a release for me. I need the me time and the break from that 24 hr houskeeping, cooking, mothering job I have. My dh is supportive and likes that I have this to do.

I also have an issue with cropping though. I can do great at a crop, but I just never seem to squeeze it in at home. Oh well! My passion is cards anyway!

When my darlings were little, nap time was just for me to do as I wanted. No chores got done during their naps, that gave me about 2 hours a day!

After lunch, my two year old naps and my 4 1/2 year old has "quiet time" which translates to "Mommy Time." I try to use that time to scrap, but lately it has turned into chore time or computer time. I also try to scrap after bedtime if there is nothing good on tv. My DH got a few video games for Christmas, so after the kids go to bed, he goes off to play video games and I go off to scrap. I think the best thing to do is try to set aside some time and not let yourself do anything else then. There will always be chores to do, so they can wait another day!

Kelly and my DH must be on the same wavelength. I can't stand watching him play video games when there are chores to be done. So he will know ask "Are you doing to go stamp" code for "I want to play video games please leave!"
