I need to do some organizing of supplies and overstock, and then rehome or redirect quite a bit. I do have some plans for my brand, including custom printing some fabric to incorporate into new projects! Also will be redirecting quite a bit of stored-for-too-long ribbon into some Beads of Courage bags as drawstrings. Very excited about being involved with that organization in that way, after seeing what an encouragement they are to so many kids!
To scrapbook! I miss it so much. The journaling was always the draw for me and when my "words" ran out, I laid aside scrapbooking. In the last few months, though, my "words" are coming back and the draw to scrapbooking is returning.

Use the new things I bought last year but haven't yet used! And don't buy any more new stuff (or at least not very much) until I get last year's purchases organized!

1. To get the chaos of my craft room under control.
2. To get my impulse buying under control.
3. To create the ideas that have been rolling around in my brain.
The reason for the above three goals is because for the past four-ish years, I've cared for my mother during her decline and eventual death this past August. I've leaned on creating with kits, but haven't really had the time to create from scratch. The anxiety of dealing with this has driven me to indulge myself with purchasing everything that I fancied, which was then just shoved into my room, which is now bulging at the seams. :smile
Wishing everyone luck with their goals for this year.
I need to sort through my huge stash of stamps and supplies. Just confronting it and making a start will be a nice start. Some can stay, but some cannot.
Bev,
I have been working on weeding out what I don’t use. It is hard and takes a fair amount of time. I am trying really hard to use something I have rather than buying new.

I made a list of neglected stamps on 9/14/21 and my continuing goal is to use them before deciding whether to find new homes. The list started at 123 sets and I need to use 13 more. Whew!

I am greatly impressed! Maybe even incentivized...

gaylestamps makes wonderful, easy cards. I CASE a lot of her cards. I'll be looking for the final 13!!
Happy Stampin'!!
*organize my stamping stuff better
*make 3 deco mesh ribbon wreaths to use as gifts and silent auction items
*start making our Christmas cards WAY earlier than I did in 2022
*send more random "thinking of you" cards to friends and family

I want to get my craft room back in order, first of all. Then I just bought some of the Art Impressions watercolor sets, so I’m trying to learn a new technique with them. It’s a big learning curve for me, but each attempt improves, so that’s something. I have almost the entire line of Ohuhu alcohol markers (210 set, 120 set, original 48 pastel set and the newest pastel set that came out in November (?) I think). The tops don’t match the ink very well, and I saw on Lindsey the frugal crafter’s YouTube that she had swatched each marker on a thin strip of label or something and wrapped it around each marker on some of her markers, so I’ve been doing that. I’m almost finished with that. I LOVE this system! I have them all swatched on the cards that came with the markers, but it’s hard to get them next to each other if the colors are in the middle. All I have to do now is put them next to each other. Finally, I need to use the stamps I own that have never seen ink. I have quite a few. Looks like I’m gonna be busy, lol!
I will continue my goal from 2022: making cards and sending them to not only family and friends, but to those who need a little sunshine in their day. I follow "Creating for Christ" on FB and they have a monthly listing of those who wish to have cards sent to. However, since retiring and living on SS, the postage is sometimes an issue. So, I went through my stamps and supplies that I am no longer using and decided to sell some so I can continue sending cards in 2023. I also give stamps and supplies to ladies on SCS thru the "Pay it Forward" thread so this helps with the postage on those as well. So far, I have sold enough stamps to buy a roll of postage stamps. I'm finding this is a "win-win." Clearing out my craft room and still spreading some cheer to people throughout the year.

When I cleaned my craft desk earlier this month after a whirlwind of making last-minute holiday cards & tags, I was kind of shocked at my now-almost-overflowing scraps storage. I mean, it's been getting stuffed for a while, but this time it really seems bad! I have small scraps in two 6" wide mesh drawers, sorted & divided by color, with solid cardstock in one & patterned paper in the other. And THEN, I have larger scraps sorted the same way in clear plastic sleeves that are meant for record album jackets, in three 12x12" plastic drawers that are about 3" tall each. Those drawers are getting especially stuffed. So, I have declared 2023 as The Year of the Scraps! I have already made a few cards with almost nothing but scraps, save for the card front panel & card base on each. So I count that as a good start. As for scrapbooking, I'm determined to finish a 3-album set I've been working on for a trip my brother & SIL took our mom on to Ireland, Scotland, & England. The trip was in June of 2016. Yeah, it's time to put that baby to bed! LOL It's almost done - in fact the Scotland album is finished. I just need to figure out some spacing issues with a couple of layouts in the other 2 albums & make about 3 or 4 more pages for those. Of course, Mama keeps finding things that should be added - usually after I've finished the corresponding layouts! Anyway, those are my 2 main goals for this year.
I tend to do a bit of rearranging/reorganizing/attempting to improve my work areas in January as I tidy up my paper crafting area after the completion of the Christmas card-making frenzy. This year, I have moved a small wooden storage item from my sewing area into my paper crafting area to be used as a die cutting station. And for the first time ever, I have removed all things Christmas-themed from my paper-crafting work space, and stored them in a box under my bed until I’m ready to work on Christmas cards again later in the year. I may decide to do the same with other seasonal items, if I find it allows me more creative expression with using my tools and space efficiently and effectively. I’m trying to declutter, one box, bin, or shelf at a time. It’s time to be realistic about the excess I’ve accumulated.
