I have one and never use it. I use my hand-held punches for setting eyelets. I wish I knew what else to do with it, b/c I have a serious case of buyer's remorse.
I know how you feel debating about the great SU Crafter's tool kit. All I have to say to you it that is definitely a "great investment". I have it, but haven't used it yet; but everyone I know always say "Oh you are so lucky to have it"!!
If you do lots of scrapbooking then definitely get it! It saves you a lot of headaches. owever, if you only want it to make cards with it, I would say just wait to get it.

I have a ton of Making Memories eyelets, and I can't set them with my handhelds :( To thick of metal
there are things in the crafters tool kit that are not in the Making Memories kit. I have the Making Memories kit, and while I like it I still want the crafter's tool kit from SU! it not only has the cool grid, and setter for the bigger eyelets, but it also has a soft pad that's great for a push pin type surface. you can use it for something to lay your paper on when making holes with the needles w/o damaging another surface, brads, and those rings that have spikes on the back that you have to flatten (don't even know what they're called, but the're way cool). this piece gives you a surface to incert those with too. it also has a wire cutter included on the pliers (one thing I had to buy sepperatley for the MM kit). and the carying case is just way cool! so over all with the little extras that don't come in the MM kit I'd say it's better. I just wish it had been around b-4 I got my MM tool kit. not that it's not good, but I love all the other things included in this kit that I don't have.
just my 2 cents

I have both the MM tool kit (got it before SU offered one) and the SU Crafter's Tool Kit... the SU one is far superior. I love the paper piercing pad, grid tool, and the little black case is awesome too - the MM one doesn't hold anything that didn't originally come with it, but the SU one will hold a pack of eyelets or brads in the pockets. Definitely a must have- even just for card crafting (what I primarily do). Hope that helps
I have the crafter's tool kit and I love it. It was hard for me to pay that price even with my discount, but after I received it, I have not regretted getting it. I use it all the time for both cards and scrapbook pages.
The MM eyelet setter also doesn't give you a nice finished back. It always splays out the eyelet. On tags, I often want the back to look nice too and the SU setter provides that.
I had the MM set before the SU one and now never use my MM set.
I like that the kit has extra pockets. I keep my rubber cutting scissors and my paper snips in the outside pocket. I keep my Pampered Chef scrapers (bone folder substitute) and post it notes in the extra pocket inside. I like the tools but my favorite part of the kit is that now everything has a place and I don't loose things all the time.
