It all depends on the effect you desire and there is no distinctive "advantage" of one over the other--it's a matter of the purpose of using them?
I love Classic for: quick drying on glossy and matte card stocks. Ability to watercolor by pressing lid against pad surface and loading a wet paintbrush with the puddle of ink. Great for sponging and antiquing card stocks.
I love Craft for: Ability to emboss with clear EP, fade-resistance, ability to stamp on multi-surfaces like fabric, wood, polyshrink, etc. Craft inks, however, will never dry on glossy card stock and must be thermal embossed.
I own all 48 Classic, and all the Bold Brights in Craft, along with an assortment of other frequently used colors, including Basic Black.
Altho I would recommend Classic to a beginning stamper for ease of use, I would think that any advanced stamper would eventually Craft versions to their collection, as I did, in order to have the flexibility to switch to the appropriate ink for a specified effect.
HTH,
