Question Craft Spots? Good? Bad? What for?

I am thinking that I should get the craft ink spots in the BB. The only thing that I can think of to use them for is to emboss clear over the color ink. What else can I use them for? I also heard that they are not very juicy. What have you ladies found?

I am very interested to see answers to this too, as it seems everyone has'em but I don't know what else to do with them either.

I still consider myself a newbie so I'm not sure how much help I'll be. I bought the craft spots in SS and RR and white. I plan to use them for scrapbooking too, I just haven't made the transition to incorporate my stamping with my scrapbooks yet.
I love embossing them with clear...if your not embossing sometimes the extra drying time can be a pain. (I don't have a heat gun yet so set it.) I love the white craft on darker cardstock (or any of the lighter colors on darker cardstock).
Hoping more people see this and can add to it!!!

Default Craft spots are great!

Hi!

I ordered all four sets of the craft spots and I really have had a lot of fun using them!

The craft ink looks great on colored paper. The color really stands out. (I love the look on the Kraft paper) I was really hesitant to use the craft ink....all my experiences with Color Box pigment ink were a disaster (Unless I embossed it) SU craft ink, IMO, dries faster so I am using them more.

Okay, so I didn't offer a lot of techniques for using the craft ink....sorry.

I am so glad you asked this question. I only have the white but I am wanting to get the spots to use for the embossing as well. I make such a mess with my white craft ink so I am so hesitant to buy the spots. I am going to follow this thread and see what you experienced stampers say.

I love using them because of the deeper, more vibrant colors as well as embossing. They take a little getting used to because they take longer to dry, (you can use a heat gun to speed the drying time) but you'll get the hang of it- it's worth it... I'd encourage you to go for it and have fun as you experiment and learn. You'll probably surprise yourself!!

I am buying the spots because I cannot afford two whole sets of ink pads. I do alot of scrapbooking so I am using the craft ink in my scrapbooks. The spots work great for inking up the alpha sets. Of course I love to emboss with them. And I just got some twill tape so I can use the craft ink on that to stamp words or images.

I don't find the crafts hard to get off at all...the only issue whould be when the stamp has a lot of fine detail and it's just a matter of getting something into the detail. I usually just use a cloth and bingo dauber type of cleaner.

Oh and I only learned myself recently that you can watercolor with the craft inks as well!

Stampin Scrub pad and Stampin' Mist work great! The little fibers of the Stampin' Scrub really get into the little nooks and crannies!

I got the BB craft spots and I really like them. One of the things I like best is using them to ink the edges of my paper. They really work better for me than the classic pads. (I don't have any classic spots.) My spots don't seem as "juicy" as my white craft pad, but to me, this is a good thing. My white pad seems almost gooey or something.

Have you all seen this thread?

Forums at Splitcoaststampers

It has a tip sheet for using the Spots. I think it was written with regards to the Classic Spots, but I think the ideas are useful.

HTH!
