Default Craft Ink--Jumbo cartridge question

I've begun to do a lot of stamping on walls with the craft pads and love the results. Now I want to try doing stripes on my 'bordering blue' walls in baroque burgundy. I want to load an empty jumbo cartridge with baroque burgundy craft ink refill and roll stripes with the jumbo roller. Any advice on using craft ink in cartridges? I hate to waste either if this has been found NOT to be a good idea!

Thanks for your help, SCS'ers!

I may be confused, but don't you need a wheel to go in the roller to make it work? If you had a solid jumbo wheel that might work. I don't know though, as I have no experience stamping on walls.

Oh yeah -- I meant I'd use the wheel, handle and empty cartridge filled with CRAFT ink. Just wondering if anyone has had good results with CRAFT ink in the wheel cartridges .... and/or good experience wheeling on walls.

I haven't done it yet myself but i want to start using craft ink refills to do my scrapbooking pages. I don't want my images to fade witht the dye ink. That being said I don't see why it wouldn't work. There is a white craft ink cartridge available. I asked my demo if the roller in the cartridge for that item was the same as the rollers in the stampin around cartridges. She said it was. Sooo if we are supposed to use a dye ink refill to re-ink our roller cartridges why not use a craft ink refill in an empty-never-been-used cartridge to make our own craft cartridges? I haven't gotten to it yet but I want to. Hope this makes sense.

Let us know how you make out. I want to get a blank cartridge when I sign up as a demo next month and give it a shot.

I heard a seminar from Home Depot at a Women's Show a couple years ago. For walls they recommend stamping with acrylic paint. You may want to try this in your empty cartridge and see how it works. You can always wipe it off with a damp cloth if you don't like it.

I have inked up a cartridge using the white craft ink. It takes longer to ink up a cartridge with craft ink instead of classic because craft ink takes longer to be absorbed. I did mine while I was watching television. Hope this helps.

Just so you know, SU does not recommend craft ink for the walls. I'm not sure their reasoning, but they've spoken out against it many times. I do know it's not permanent in the least on the walls, you would have to seal it on walls and I don't know how you would go about that.

I posted on SU!'s demo web site to see if anyone had tried this, and these are the replies I got:

"I have put the craft brilliant blue in a blank jumbo cartridge so I could do an
all-over clear embossing. It worked fine. As with all new cartridges, I had to
ink it, let it set, then ink it again. It takes a while for the ink to permeat
the foam of the cartridge and if you will ink it more than once before using it,
it gives more complete coverage. "

"Yes, I have and it works out well. I used the Black Craft Ink and use it in my
scrapbooks. It takes some extra ink in the beginning and I do need to store it
so it will not leak out the cartridge. hope she has fun with it!
Sandy"

so it seems that craft ink does work well in ink cartridges. I hope this helps. good luck. let us know how it turns out, better yet post pics!
