Default craft ink

Do you heat set your craft ink?

I have really just started using it, besides white and vanilla, and I wondered if you heat set yours. It's a pain, but I was hoping it might make it come off less on your hands and smudge less.

yes. Heat set it, or leave it somewhere safe for around 24 hours

Default Craft ink

I totally agree with Dorinda---you have to let it air dry for a good 24 hours or else heat set.

It depends. Craft inks are great for making DTP backgrounds and I let those air dry, sometimes a couple of days in this humid weather. I don't like to dry heat or emboss a whole page or even a quarter page because embossing -- at least the way I do it -- always curls the paper and I can rarely get it to look right afterwords. However, for small pieces of paper, heating with the gun will speed up the drying process a LOT.

I had this problem too and I do usually use dye ink - but I found if my page starts to curl - I'll turn it over and BRIEFLY blas with the heat gun and it will uncurl itself.

It also helps to use a clipboard (not plastic, obviously) to emboss. Just clip your project in and heat away. This works especially well on little pieces.

Heating both sides helps with the curling thing.
