Default Copics on fabric?

I was just curious if anyone knows if Copics will stay or wash out of fabric? I am guessing they will wash out or fade dramatically, but thought I'd check. I know they can bleed and been seen from the back but still would love to try them out on a onesie I wanted to do. Thanks for the info!

I don't know about fabric but I used them to cover a chip on a plate (perfect match) and when I washed the plate the color came off.

No Copics will not wash out of fabric. They are alcohol based not water based. Trust me...my 2 year old twins got into mommy's markers and one got it on her shirt. I have washed the shirt several times and it is still there. Yellow on a purple shirt at that. I would think you will be fine using it on a onsie.

Yes, I have done this on a pencil case I created. It does not wash out! Wonderful.

A little tip:
Make sure you don't color too close to the lines....allow a little "bleeding" room. I corrected a few over the line mistakes with my blender pen....just like you would on paper.

Works really well!
Here is the link to the pencil case:

Have fun!

this is long after the question, but someone else may be looking and need this information: Red and the colors with red in them (orange, purple, brown) will run in the wash. Other colors are permanent. Use "Grandma's Spot Remover" to get Copic out of fabric, and be careful using the colorless blender, it can cause your colors to actually "run" into and puddle in the colorless blender. E-mail me if you have other questions, I have a number of tricks to make coloring on fabric easier.

One of the other tricks is to heat set it after coloring.

If you go on Suzanne Deans Blog she has a really nice tutorial on stamping on fabrics and she uses her copics on the fabric too. Her tutorial involves a baby onesie, and socks. Just go to her tutorial section and I beleive it's somewhere near the bottom. HTH

My daughter colored a tee shirt with Sharpies. When she washed it, all the colors ran.
