Default Coordinating cardstock and ink

Hi All,

I am new to Stampin' Up and I need some advice.
I want to purchase a set of 12 coordinating cardstock and ink spots. I actually really enjoy earth elements, rich regals and soft subtles...I can't decide. This may seem like a silly question, but does anyone find that you get more use out one set of colors?

Also is it best to start with a set of 12 ink spots or a few ink pads?

Thanks for your help!

I would die without my Earth Elements!! When it comes to the ink, I personally have to have it all!! So I say buy as much as you can. Get the most bang for your buck! If you cant afford an entire family of the full size pads, get the spots. But in the long run, you will want the big ones.

When I started stamping I bought the spots in Bold Brights so I could have a lot of them at once without a huge investment. I still use the spots in those colors rather than buying the big pads (it's been 4 years). Personally, while the spots can take longer to ink a really big stamp, they are just as juicy and work great! I'd recommend Rich Regals, but that's just my personal taste. Go with the collection that catches your eye the most!

Default Well, I think..

It really depends on what are your favorite colors, personally I use Bold Brights ALOT The Stampin' Spots are great to start out with, they work fine. Everyone has their personal preferences, I would suggest that you stick to the color family that "suits you best" and your personality

Good Luck and Happy Stampin!!

I tend to go seasonal. I use more of the Rich Regals in the winter, in spring/summer I use the Soft Subtles and in the fall the Earth Elements. Go with the colors that 'knock your socks off' and have fun! Whichever way you go your cards will look great because of the coordinating colors!

I'm more of a Rich Regals girl. I do use the others, but found that I rarely use Bold Brights. However, for inks, I have just about all of them. To me, having more colors in ink/markers is more important than more colors of cardstock. It took me 6 or so years of SU before I really got into their cardstock. However, I've had the markers and most of the ink pads for the past 4-5 years and use them regularly.

I also suggest getting a pack of a neutral CS like very vanilla or whisper white. I use those regularly. I should also add that I use many other brands of CS and patterned paper, which is why it took so long to get into SU's CS!

I use EE more than anything else. Start out with the spots and see which colors you use alot of, then if you want you can just buy those colors of the larger pads. Great way to get all the colors at a reasonable price.

Thanks for all your help. I love this website.

I can't believe this is such a hard decision.
I am going to go with the Rich Regals and the stampin spots to start, but I will probably change my mind again before I order.

THANKS AGAIN

I personally like Soft Subtles, but it's really up to you which one you like the best.
