I tend to get my color combinations from looking in Coldwater Creek catalog and other sales flyers. I find some of the best color combinations/layout and design inspirations in bedding ads. In fact, I've been CASEing pillows so much lately I'm starting pillow CASE Sunday challenge on my blog -- LOL!
Anyway, what I love about using ads and catalogs as opposed to a color wheel or the color combo web site is that sometimes I stumble on a combination that no one else has thought of or at least I haven't seen, which is really cool. Plus often I get inspired for the whole look and feel and style of a card, not just the colors.
If you don't want to look through ads on your own, you could try doing the inspiration challenge here on SCS -- basically the same thing except once a week someone locates the inspiration for you!
