I have been going back and forth with this. I started storing them in a binder then I find that my stamps are sliding off the transparency sheets.. I now am storing them in cd holders which I put in a basket but that seems to take up alot of room!
Just was wondering what everyone else is using! Looking forward to your suggestions and ideas.
I keep all of my unmounteds (clear, red rubber still on foam and red rubber with no foam) in cd cases. Less chance of having random stamps getting lost. I used to store them on plastic sheets, but I too found that some of the stamps kept falling off. As far as how I store the cd cases, I have my less-used sets stacked on a shelf, and my most-used sets are in a fabric Amy Butler caddy on my desk (it holds about 30 cd cases). HTH!
I've been storing mine on acetate sheets in binders. I also have a separate binder with all the index sheets and have all the stamps cross referenced for the different categories if a set fits into two or more categories. I really like this systems because I only have to pull out the index binder and flip through the images to find what I like rather than having to hunt through all my stamps. I think if they start to fall off the sheets, I will put the acetate sheets and stamps into page protectors so at least they won't fall out of the binder, but so far I haven't had that problem.
I use the Gina K storage binders to hold all of my unmounted stamps. http://shop.ginakdesigns.com/categor...?categoryId=25 I have not had a problem with stamps coming off the sheets and the nice thing about the binders is that if a stamp does comes off the sheet it stays in the binder until you open it.
I used to store mine in binders, but also had the problem of them falling off. I tried a zipper binder to catch them all, but still.. it was a pain. Gina K's system is very nice, but it's much too pricey for me.
I love using CD cases. I store all of mine in some nice, inexpensive CD holders I got from Ikea and they sit on a shelf in my craft room. It looks nice and organized that way too.
Ditto on the index binder-- I'd be lost without it, although I am getting a bit behind with it!
I also use CD cases. I have several of GinaK's binders (that I keep my GinaK and CHF sets in) but it would be too pricey for me to buy enough for all my unmounted sets. I keep about 20 CD cases on my stamping table (the ones I use most) and the rest of them are in my crafting armoire.
I store all of mine in 8x8 binders. I found some 8x8 clear envelope type holders and all the stamps are in these. The stamps are on acetate sheets that fit into them. They have an envelope type closure on the right, so nothing can get lost. Honestly though, most of my stamps stick very firm to the acetate.
I also have a seperate index binder that I can flip through instead of going through all the stamp binders. I really like this part.
CD cases... In the 3-drawer Sterilite stackable units.
Now... I've gotten a little lazy and in some of these drawers I have my clear stamps stored in their original packaging. I also keep bare rubber and cling mount stamps in the cases/drawers.
I also keep a lot of them in their original packaging, and have them in a tub right beside my desk.
I like this!!!
My Papertrey sets are stored in the cd cases they send with orders, my others are stored in Gina K's binders! Works great for me!!!
I started with the Little Monkey's system and then saw people having trouble with the orders. Now I make my own little monkey's by trimming off a page protector to 8 1/2 in square (for some reason this is the tallest it can be and not fold over--it is a physics thing I guess) and inset an acetate transparency to stick the stamps on. I found some old velveeta boxes and covered them. It all seems to be working fine and I can see them all the time.
